Great sound once the drum is properly tuned to sound like a proper conga drum. I tuned it to have both upper and lower register and am extremely pleased with the product and so are my students!

Not everyone orders these as side tables for a room yet with a plate glass top they are perfect and add a musical note to a room which in my case already had guitars hanging on the walls, tuning forks, sheet music, and other cheer

I am a complete novice to Conga drumming. I bought this to play the Salsa Tumbao rhythm and to teach my class about finding the Salsa beat using the Tumbao (the beat played on theconga). It looks nice and suits my needs. The head of the drum is a little small (about 7.5 inches in diameter) which is only about the length of my hand. I can still play the rhythm though, and that's what I wanted. Thanks LP!

Very well built small conga. Takes a little getting used to playing on a small head, but the sound is good. The strap is cheap and doesn't support the drum in a comfortable position, so I'm mostly playing it tilted between my legs "djembe style." Still love the size and portability.

I'm new to drumming but not to woodworking, and I can safely say that this little guy is well made.I was half expecting a toy but this is a real drum that sounds great. The one thing that should be mentioned is that though the drum is advertised as having 9" head, the actual playing surface is approximately 7 3/8".It is about 9"diameter for the EZ play retaining/tuning ring. This is an important distinction for some one looking for a certain pitch to fit in with an existing drum set up.I wish those who write catalog descriptions would get together with manufacturers and learn how to describe these dimensions accurately. To the best of my knowledge, the general concensus is to measure a conga by it'sPLAYING SURFACE DIAMETER.This information came from proessional conga players that are endorsed by leading manuacturers but alas, even their own catalogs continue in this inconsistancy. All that being said,...A great little drum.
