Got this for my son-in-law. The feedback is that this is a very good dual purpose item. Feels heavy and substantial and good quality. He has used its bore sighting successfully, which he says helps him with his accuracy and prevents wasting as much ammo. But he has also enjoyed the dry fire mode for those periods where he cannot get to the range and wants to stay in practice. Overall, quite satisfied. I may have to borrow it.

Bore sighting aside, this is an excellent tool for practicing at home with a laser target. It will save you ammo and money at the range, and give you the opportunity to practice any time, anywhere, improving your basic firearm handling skills dramatically. Just be sure to pair it with some snap caps so you don't damage your firearm by dry firing all the time.It's a sturdy, all metal construction, and has an excellent battery life. My only complaint is that sometimes it won't register a pull of the trigger (maybe 1 time out of 50), which isn't a big deal. Also, be sure to fit the correct o rings for the barrel of your gun, for a snug but not too snug fit, and buy some replacements. Regularly removing and replacing this device will cause the riffling of your gun to eventually shred the o rings.

I was using it for a bore sight. The laser was far too dim. A pink fly speck on the wall after charging. It fit snugly in the barrel. Probably would have worked well if I could have seen the dot.

This is a laser training cartridge designed to help improve trigger pull through dry-firing practice. The cartridge is very well-made and has three O-rings for a snug fit into a gun’s bore, which can be lubricated to make insertion and removal easier. It’s rechargeable via USB-C port, which means you don’t even need to buy batteries! This is the first training cartridge I see that can work with .22LR caliber. Due to the small diameter .22 caliber, it’s practically impossible to make a cartridge that would fit into a 22 gun’s chamber. Instead, this so-called “cartridge” is inserted from the front into the bore. This means, it does not make any contact with the gun's firing pin when you dry-fire your gun, instead it detects hammer strike remotely. I’m not sure how exactly, I would guess it does it by the sound of hammer strike or by the hit. Besides that, this device can be used as a boresighter as well allowing you to adjust your iron sights or a scope without firing a shot! Really cool and super useful thingy!Using a laser training cartridge like this can save time and money on live range practice and ammunition. I personally use LaserLyte electronic targets, and they seem to work fine with this cartridge. The laser cartridge is helpful for trigger pull practice and target acquisition, but not for other aspects of shooting, such as recoil management or target re-acquisition. The laser cartridge is not a substitute for a live-fire training session, and you should practice with a live-fire firearm in addition to using the laser cartridge. I cannot speak about the longevity of the product, but it seems to be well-built. The red dot is very well visible indoors, but I'd prefer to have it in green to be able to train outdoors as well during the daytime. Its aim point can be easily adjusted using the included tool - there are small screws in the front section, but mine was sighted perfectly right out of the box and I did not need to tinker with it.Another thought. This training cartridge is great for learning how to handle your firearm. The only thing that is missing is recoil. You want to have recoil interference to simulate real firearm shots and build your skills accordingly. That's why I prefer to train with full blowback air guns - you get as close as possible to the real firearm feedback. But with this laser cartridge, you can actually use the same gun that you'll be using with live ammo on a range, which is perfect for trigger pull training.Bottom line:Overall, the cartridge is very well-manufactured and accurately fits .22LR bore. It includes a USB-C charging cable, adjustment tool, and a storage box. While I think it's slightly overpriced at around $50, it's worth it IMHO. Perfect for trigger pull training and works well with LaserLyte targets. The cartridge point of aim is adjustable, and it can be used as a boresighter as well. The only concern is that I'd prefer it in green color for better visibility. Otherwise, it’s an exceptionally well-built and very useful product that I highly recommend, solid 5 stars from me!Pros:1.
