I don’t normally write reviews, but decided that I had to today. This is definitely one of the best purchases that I have ever made. My cats both love it! Even my Bengal cat that is ‘too smart’ to chase laser toys, (and normally comes to me and knocks the laser pen toy from my hand), loves it!Both of my young cats are extremely active at night (and during the day LOL), are entertained by this toy.I was apprehensive before buying this, and now am so happy that I did!The machine is well made! When I first got it, my oldest bengal who is 2 years old, constantly went to it, and pushed it off the counter top onto the floor. It still works as perfectly as the day we received it and it has been at least 3 months now.Great buy! Thanks!

This is actually up there for one of the greatest purchases I have ever made. I purchased a different one first from a local pet store and it would only swing its head side to side and my cat would just sit there and stare at it.But this one, is a pro. It has total random movements that goes all over the floor 180 degrees and depending where you have it on the table, it even goes up the wall an achievable height for any cat. Now with this one, my cat goes bonkers with it, my dog too. IAnother nice feature is that along with the motion detection, it also has an auto shut off timer to help prevent your pet becoming hyper fixated. If you have a cat, you should really buy this. It’s the bees knees.

First off, this product works exactly as advertised. It is well-designed, solidly built, easy to use. Exudes quality on all levels. Good product. Five stars if just looking at that.HOWEVER... My cats have always loved playing with a regular handheld laser pointer as I move it about the room. I thought this would be a nice way to give them that kind of play when I'm busy doing something else. What I discovered, though, was that even though the device is programmed with plenty of randomness and a quite realistic "human touch" in the laser's movements, the cats lose interest very quickly, and the little thing sits there moving the light around in an empty room. Sort of sad looking actually. What the failure of this device has taught me is that the movement of a laser pointer for cats is actually a two-way street. When I am doing it, the cats' reactions prompt me to move the pointer in certain ways. I can get it near them to get their attention, repeat certain patterns they tend to like, etc. The YVE LIFE of course doesn't have that capability, and somehow the cats intuit that there's no mind behind the movements. It's just plain ol' not as good for them, regardless of the speed settings. So even though it's got everything going for it as advertised, I doubt it's going to get much use at all.

Our Cat wasn't really bothered about it, the laser just seems to move around too quickly and the Cat can lose track of it and get bored, even on its lowest setting it seemed to quick, it starts off slowly but speeds up very quickly, the robot did seem a little noisy too which was distracting our cat, might work for some but not us.

*This is an honest review. This product was neither provided gratis, at a discounted price or as a free gift in exchange for a review. No reimbursements, refunds or compensation in-kind have been received.*My cats love this, and they are a tough crowd to please, so anytime something is a hit with them I am very happy (as I scan the sea of un-loved and un-played with cat toys spread across the living room). I also have a "1st generation" model as well but that never really caught on because it basically goes in a circle, sure it changed direction and speed but in the end it just goes in a circle which was its fatal flaw. Not only are my cats picky but they are smart. A few nights of maybe 15 minutes of play was all the original one was worth before they turned their noses up to it. However, this new randomized version is a totally different story (so far). It truly is random and not just mechanical back and forth motion either, it varies the speed along with trajectory, sometimes even coming to a complete stop for a few seconds to give them a chance to pounce. The way it moves the laser point around is moist comparable to that of a fly, which they also love, I imagine for much the same reasons. I have noticed they've figured out the laser is coming out of this device and seem a little less enthralled with it but I just put it away for a night or two and they start screaming for it back. The automated on/off cycle of like 15 min on/2 hours off (or something like that) is a very nice addition too, making it just right for their little attention spans and their natural zoom/sleep/zoom/sleep cycle. Plus, the battery life is actually pretty decent. Just make sure you charge it ahead of time because it is slow to charge, like several hours. Let's hope for a couple of years of play before the battery naturally runs down.

This indoor cat laser is definitely fun, and my cats love chasing the light! It’s super easy to use and keeps them entertained for hours. The design is sleek and the laser pattern moves in a random way, which keeps them engaged. However, there are a couple of downsides. First, it has to stay plugged in to work, which limits where you can place it. I wish it had a rechargeable battery option for more flexibility. Also, the laser doesn’t stay on for very long at a time, so you have to keep pressing the button to restart it, which can be a little annoying. Still, it's a great way to give your cats some exercise and fun, just be prepared to keep it plugged in and manage the short playtime bursts.
