I use these constantly. For watercolor painting, oil painting, and even calligraphy. The fact that there are two attached wells with screw on lids make them perfect for travel as well as studio work. For watercolor work, one well can be used with water to clean your brushes, and the second well could contain clean water for wet on wet applications, or to mix in a few drops of oxgall or aquazol. If you are an oil painter, you can fill one well with OMS, and the second well with linseed, poppy, or walnut oil. The lids seem to be so effectively and securely screwed on that I haven’t once experienced leakage, even with the most careless, nonchalant treatment. If you are in a cramped, cluttered studio, or want to go to a different place to paint, these are easy to carry, and take up very little space. All in all, I can’t think of a single negative thing to say about them. They have made me realize that one really doesn’t need huge tubs of water or OMS to paint, but rather something like this, and some paper or cloth towels. Like sketchbooks, these are items that I consider the more the merrier!

I took this on a plein air painting trip. I filled the cups with oil and mineral spirits before leaving home, and there were no leaks. It fits snugly and solidly on my palette. Very convenient and I didn’t have to carry bottles of the mediums.

I really like this product. The cups are a great size to hold my solvents when I'm working away from my studio space. I had success in clipping it to both a wooden mixing palette for painting as well as to the cover of my hardbound sketchbook when doing quick work with oil pastels. They have good seals and neither of the cups leaked when properly closed; although I did have a bit of an issue with accidentally cross threading the caps when I put them on in a hurry. That may be more of a user error thing but I do feel like they're a bit easier to misalign than other screw top containers. I mitigated that by slowing down a bit and also find that if I put a couple of cotton balls in then saturate them with the solvents, it keeps things a little neater and they release the solvent easily with minimal pressure from the brush. Overall, I'm very happy with this item.

My husband does plein air art and really enjoys the size of these because they are compact and easy to carry! Great gift for an artist!
