Timer comes with decent instruction manual and even instructions on the box. The LED readout is large and bright. Simple to use and has adjustable volume for the alarm with 2 alarm settings High and low(er).Has minute and seconds buttons so you can dial in time setting. In between the two time buttons is the start/restart button. Simple to use, just like a timer should be.You can use the last timer setting simply by long pressing the 'Restart' button. So if you time something for 5:25 minutes (5 minutes and 25 seconds), you can long press the restart button and have the timer go for another 5:25 minutes/seconds without having to input the time all over again. Pretty nice. The alarm can be loud or not so loud depending on how you like it by switching the setting on the back. It can also display red/blue lights on the face of the unit when the alarm trips if so desired. It isn't rechargeable and takes (3) AAA batteries. I'm using AAA rechargeable batteries in mine.Backside has a pair of magnets to stick it to metallic surfaces. Nice convenient added touch. For the price, if you want a good timer that's easy to use, easy to read and with adjustable alarm settings, this timer fits the bill. It instantly became my favorite timer.

I needed a timer that was easy to read across the room…and this was the size and color scheme that caught my eye.As you can see from the attached photo, this compact unit easily fits in the palm of a man’s hand - but is still bright and a joy to use. The instructions were thorough, complete and written in American English …thus very understandable without any language barriers. You need to insert three AAA batteries to start …and then you can set a timer in two button presses. I’m not kidding. Two button presses and it’s working. You can set only minutes or only seconds - or both. It also has a strong but not unpleasant alarm sound, as well as a blinking light when the timer counts down to zero. And the alarm silences itself after a minute - just in case you cannot go over to the alarm and touch it to turn it off.The other thing I really like is that the countdown timer can’t be accidentally turned off if you happen to bump the unit. The timer can only be modified by touching the start button. That’s intelligent design.Simple to use, attractive and a minimalist design that makes this a perfect digital timer for the kitchen, the patio or any other use that requires a timer.I am very impressed with this product and would recommend it to my family and friends.

This timer does everything the listing says it does, and does it well. It is not perfect (what is?) but is easy to use, a very good value, and should fill most kitchen timer needs very nicely.PROS:- The instructions are clear, thorough, and well written.- The LED numbers are large and easy to read across a room when fully bright (which is not always - see CONS).- The timer is easy to set and reset to zero, with reasonably large buttons on the front and simple setting steps.- It has a nice repeat time feature that makes it quick and easy to reset to the last used timer setting.- It can both count down to zero from a time setting or count up from zero (like a stopwatch) - a nice feature not found in most kitchen timers.- The back has three small magnets, two top and one bottom, that are strong enough to hold the timer firmly to any magnetic surface.- In addition to the alarm beeper, the numbers flash and there is a blinking LED, which can be turned on or off with a switch on the back.- The alarm beeper has two volume settings. The loud setting should be easily heard over the noise of even a commercial kitchen. The lower setting is good for a quiet to moderately loud room.CONS:- Batteries are not included. You must supply 3 AAA batteries.- The timer allows you to set minutes and seconds, not hours and minutes like some other timers. The maximum countdown time is 99 minutes and 59 seconds, so you cannot use it to time something for several hours (like a roast or a turkey) without resetting.- There is no "count-up" feature indicating how long it has been since the timer went off. When the timer counts down to zero, the alarm sounds and the display flashes for one minute. After that, the alarm stops and the display goes dark to save the battery. If you are out of the room when it goes off, you will not know how long it has been since the alarm went off, which other timers do by starting to count-up from zero.- To save battery power, the display dims to "low brightness mode" when the timer is running after 10 seconds of starting or if no keys are pressed. The dim is really dim, and the dimmed display is not easy to see from a distance in a brightly lit room. If you are relatively close to the timer, this is not an issue. Also, I have the red LED version, and maybe other colors are easier to see in bright light.Overall, this is a very good timer at a very good price. Recommended!

Works as described, I only wish there was a setting for a "warning" alarm before time runs out. Otherwise it's perfect.

Setting the timer is simple. You can count Up or Down. For setting to count down, you can only count up when setting the countdown time, no going backwards if you pass the number you want. It will go up to 99:59.You can either press the button each time to increase the number or hold down the button to move the digits faster. If you go too far, you will need to either cycle all the way through the numbers or clear the numbers back to Zero and start again.Clear to Zero by pressing both the Hour and Minute buttons at the same time.I like that when the counter is counting down (or up) you can accidentally hit the Minute or Hour button and the counter will not be effected. If you press the start/stop button while counting, the timer will just stop/pause. It will not reset unless you clear the counter (as described above). To continue you press the play/stop button again and the timer will resume. If you want to restart, stop the timer and then hold down the play/stop button until it resets to the last countdown time. I like that function as it makes it easy to start over if needed.I love the big bright colored numbers and the auto-shut-off function.
