This is a great idea. The bed is stretched tight so it makes a comfortable surface above ground for your pet. Helps keep them above the dirt and crawly critters and allows for air circulation on hot days.This isn't too big. I have a 75lb dog and I'm not sure how easy it is for her to get in. She does seem to struggle a little. Without the top the size would still work for her just not fully stretched out. Now on the other hand, my cat liked it right away. He likes to watch the world go by and I caught him laying on it under the tent when it was raining. So he's figured out the shelter it gives him for his favorite past time even in the rain.It is very light and if you are going to leave it outside make sure to anchor it down or it will easily blow away. It does seem sturdy enough for a dog of the appropriate weight. A novel way to protect your pet from sun and light rain. If you don't think you will use the top you can probably find the bed at a lesser price so I have mixed feelings about the value for the cost.

This dog fort (as we refer to it here) is definitely larger than I expected, and I was pleasantly surprised by that. It can easily fit and hold a medium sized dog as well as the smaller weight dogs (probably both together!) and I love how durable it feels as well. It wasn't too difficult to put together (instructions are on the back of the box fyi and not in a separate pamphlet so don't freak out when you don't see one). Everything feels taught and secure and looks quite comfortable. It also has a reflective top to reflect the sun (as this is a sun bed technically) while utilizing cooler dark greys inside to help keep your dog comfortable when it gets really hot out. My dog likes it so much I've started bringing it inside for him as well and now he uses it as his daybed indoors or out, only switching things up at night when he has his sleeping fort house (he's beyond spoiled). Suffice to say he loves this thing and that, coupled with his wellbeing which this helps aid in by keeping him cool, are all that matters.
