Buy xPrintServer Office only if your printer is on the supported list. It appears to work for one I tried on that list but given the fact that it’s possible both through the admin interface as well as through the USB port to update the drivers, I thought their might be some flexibility and/ or future updates for the supported printers. This is especially so due to the fact it’s using Linux CUPS under the covers. I contacted thier technical support and they clearly stated they will not be any other printers in the future and they also would not assist me with any instructions on how to package and upload a driver. If you don’t see your printer on the list, it will never be there. Basically this seems to be an EOL product. If you are technically inclined, you can run CUPS and the AirPrint driver from a raspberry Pi kit for 1/3 the price. It’s unfortunate because the device looks nice and I wanted to be lazy about dealing with CUPS, network setup, and driver configuration but little flexibility and value in this device and with no future upgrades, you’d better make sure it will do exactly what you need it to do OOTB or your money is wasted. Their configuration interface is also amateur hour in its code and design quality.

PROS:Works in an environment with mixed iOS and Android devicesGreat for office use- highly customizableAble to load drivers for printers that aren't on their 'compatibility list' (took a bit of digging around and couldn't find documentation but I figured it out) - Brother HL-4070CDW on list - HP Officejet Pro L7780 NOT on list (Both hardwired static IP printers)CONS:Very slow time to print - Takes several minutes for print job to be processed and slowly trickled to printer (once took over 15 minutes for a four line text email to print) - Couldn't find documentation for advanced settings (such as setup of printer not on compatibility list)OVERALL:Happy with this as am able to print from both Android and iOS devices to both printers. Just wish it would process print jobs faster. It takes a very long time to process print job then it seems to be slowly trickled to printer (Hardwired printer with 128mb RAM) Not the perfect solution but a good one if you don't have Airprint or Android compatible printers in your office.

Setup was not automatic. (connecting to network printer not USB) Although the print server discovered our Xerox ColorCube 8870DN it did not automatically provision it. Upgrade to latest firmware and still no automatic provisioning. Factory reset still no automatic provisioning. Delete and rediscover printers still not provisioned. Support suggested to add it manually which is bit technical but it is now working fine that way. iPads even have the duplex printing option available for this printer which is really nice, Android devices using Cloud Print show the duplex option but unfortunately it is grayed out - checking with support on that. Printing speed seems fine, not printing anything big or complicated. Would get more stars if setup had been easier, because it is really great being able to print to our Xerox from iPads.Update: Duplex issue on Android seems to be Android/Google problem works on some devices not on others according to Lantronix, support had a work around to configure a second instance of the same printer naming it as duplex and in the lantronix settings for that printer set it to always be duplex and that worked to get cloud print to print duplex.

I purchased this to enable Airprint with a recent model photocopier that didn't include it. This device discovered all my printers but didn't install any of them. I called support and found it has a list of compatible printers that they said is fairly limited. I was told that I should have checked the list before buying this product. You should check the list and make sure your printer is on it otherwise you will be doing a return like me.

I've only had this product for two hours, and have performed only two print jobs with it. I'm writing for a different reason.Agreed, this is not a cheap solution. But, the product, so far, appears to work exactly as described. Five minutes to set-up and my wife is finally able to easily and properly print from her IPad and IPhone, using all the print options that Apple allows within their AirPrint software. We had tried "App" solutions, even a paid one, but they left a lot to be desired. My only caution is to make sure your printer is on the list of supported printers at Lantronix' website. Oh, this is on a Brother MFC-9970CDW for what that's worth. Now for the different reason portion. Evidently I had misremembered that Amazon will offer a credit for product price drops within 'X' amount of time. This is not true. I ordered on Saturday past, two days ago essentially, and today the price was 40.00 dollars less. Customer service says 'Sorry, Charlie'... though they did suggest I could return the item and reorder at the lower price. That seems to be a silly policy, in that labor and shipping costs would almost certainly be significantly more than 40 dollars.Anyway, sorry for the digression, this does seem to be a good product that works well.

It probably works well for the small number of ancient printers supported on their website. Doesn't work well for printers that are not listed. It would be unfair of me to expect the Lantronix device to support hardware they do not indicate is supported, and their customer support was prompt in letting me know they don't support our 2-year old printers (the models supported are more like 10 years old). The device appears to be running a variant of CUPS (open source print server) as it uses an identical interface. There is CUPS support for my printer, so I could build the same with a Raspberry Pi, but I ended up just dedicating an old computer to Cloud Print for the time being.
