I've had my old watermelon knife for years. I didn't realize how dull it was until I purchased this knife. It cuts through my watermelon and pineapple with ease. Highly recommend!

I bought my first watermelon knife years ago and they cut through a fresh melon like butter. About a year ago I started making my own biscotti, and if you know anything about the process, you have to cut them in those diagonal pieces after the first baking to ready them for a second bake. My Ginsu knife did an okay job making the cuts, and then I decided to try this knife. Makes the perfect cuts for biscotti without tearing or breaking the cut pieces. So...............I bought another just for my biscotti making. Even labeled it as such to keep in nice and sharp. Sometimes I even amaze myself.

So far it works perfect. I use it for watermelon, any kind of melon and works really good for cutting bread. I would highly recommend.

My major concern with a water melon knife was if it cut straight and it does! The knife is beveled equally on both sides resulting in an easy straight slice as long as you start the cut straight. Trust the Japanese to get it right - correction, appears to be Swiss, not Japanese.

I am older and have arthritis. This makes it possible for me to finally cut melons without feeling like I'm fighting to get into them. Long enough for any size melon and very sturdy, not wobbly.
