The packaging was beyond anything I’ve received from any other seller so far. Cellos tunes easy and holds tune well. This cellos will take you past the beginning years and for the price just cannot be beat

I think this cello has fantastic tone, as others have said. Very beautiful sound. Also, very beautiful fit and finish. A great alternative to expensive rentals for students. I didn't mind it is basswood, I know that is a recognized "tonewood" in the guitar world, and the sound confirms it. A novice at cello, but the playability seemed fine to me, strings at right heights, etc. Importantly, it holds its tune well. One thing to consider, I'm fairly certain it is made in a laminate style - though still "solid" wood. That does not bother me as the sound is hauntingly beautiful and I have read laminates can be stronger, more resistant to cracking. Plus, it helps provide the low price. Setup was fairly easy and everything worked great. The only thing I'd like to improve would be the fine tuners someday, but, they work fine and do their job. I would definitely recommend this fine instrument for the price! In fact, I liked it so much I bought their other full ebony version, which is also fantastic. Great job Ktaxon!

It arrived as advertised, and was well packed for shipping. The bridge may eventually be a problem. As I was trying to tighten the strings, the low string kept slipping out of the groove. I eventually pulled out my pocket knife and deepened the groove. I may have to get a new bridge at some point. The tuning pegs slip very badly, even after applying peg drops. I may have to pull the strings off and pretty much start over with stringing. I have yet to draw a single note from it. Please keep in mind that I am an absolute beginner. As such, this is a little frustrating, but the price was where I could afford.Edit: It is now past the time when I would have been able to return this thing. It can't be tuned. The tuning pegs slip, and I've treated them all with peg drops multiple times. The bridge is most definitely a problem. It is not a nice, even curve with notches for the strings. It slopes towards the "C" string, and I had to take a knife to the notch to deepen it enough for the string to stay in place. As it's gotten closer to tune-able, it's gotten worse, Yesterday, while once again working with it, the bridge collapsed on me twice. I don't want an expensive and large item just for decoration in my home. I'm thinking if I wanted to keep it, at this point I would need to take it to a lutier, which will cost more money. I considered giving it to a local middle school, but that would be kind of cruel to start a youngster on an instrument with issues.

I purchased the Ktaxon Full-Size Beginner Cello 4/4 Acoustic Cello Set with Portable Bag, Bow, and Rosin on January 1, 2024, with high hopes of starting my cello journey. However, my experience with this product has been nothing short of disappointing. The most glaring issue with this cello is its inability to hold tuning. No matter how carefully I tune it or how many adjustments I make, it loses its tuning within minutes of playing. This constant need for retuning makes practicing an exercise in frustration rather than an enjoyable experience. To alleviate the problem, I even purchased additional tuning accessories, but to no avail. The cello continues to exhibit the same persistent tuning issues, rendering it practically unusable for any serious practice or performance.Furthermore, the overall quality of the instrument leaves much to be desired. The construction feels flimsy, and the sound produced is lackluster at best. It's clear that corners were cut in the manufacturing process, resulting in a subpar instrument that fails to meet even the most basic expectations.Overall, I cannot recommend the Ktaxon Full-Size Beginner Cello to anyone looking to start their cello journey. The constant tuning issues and poor quality make it a frustrating and ultimately disappointing investment. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere for a reliable instrument.

My husband got me this as a Christmas present, but before he wrapped it he decided to open it and look at it. He was so devastated at how awful this thing was that he broke the surprise and came to get me to look at it. Neither of us could believe how bad it was. Sure, he knew he was getting a cheap beginner instrument, but this was complete trash! Imagine buying a dollar store toy guitar, that's the "quality" of this thing. Scuffed and scratched all up, paint unfinished and smudged with something is rolling around inside. It's weighs about 3 pounds if that. Junk not with $20. An obvious scam and they expect us to pay for the return! The box came undamaged so they knowingly put this sad thing inside the box like this! Do not buy this! My camera cannot do the disaster justice due to the reflective surface.

I really love my Cello! Iv been in orchestra for 6 years and this is would be perfect for a beginners. However the strings are cheap and my D string came unthreaded at the base when I tried to tune it when I received it. It has great sound and tone, but the groves on it bridge are not deep enough so the A string has a hard time staying on the bridge.

Craftsmanship is a little here and there, but over all I didn't end up needing to replace anything and it sounds great, a little hard to tune as someone who does it frequently, lots of little adjustments to the bridge, but otherwise great!
