Krylon's Workable Fixatif is a must for protecting pencil, pastel, chalk, charcoal, conté crayon and India ink drawings. The spray is acid free and archival safe and protects items from smudging, yellowing and wrinkling. It dries to the touch in 30 minutes and is dry to handle in 1 hour. Recoating can take place anytime. Each 11 oz. can provides up to 20 sq. ft. of coverage. I use this to seal my handmade cards that I’ve used pan pastels on and also with glossy card stock I’ve used a variety of inks, pens, and paints on. I bought two cans!

This is a product I've used for many years and the quality continues.. it does an excellent job of preserving my pastel drawings from smears and damage to the surface. If I could change anything it would be the lingering odor that lasts when you spray it on for several hours but it's a small price to pay. Thanks Krylon for a great product and the supplier who shipped it in good condition!

I don't remember this fixative costing so much back when I was in art school, but it is the best one I've ever used. Its well worth it's weight in gold for pastel/charcoal artists like myself.

Bought this for the BF to use for soft pastel and watercolor pencil drawings. He loves the ability to protect portions of his work with this spray while he works on different areas. Spray is a fine mist that creates a consistent and controlled application. Is an essential artist tool.

Cannot believe I was doing art without this product. Quick drying, leaving your art smear proof and smudge free. Of course, do use outdoors or in ventilated area as there is an odor but not so overwhelming you cannot stand it. Would recommend to anyone wanting to preserve their art and keep the layers of paint from running together.

I have used this [product in the past for charcoal drawings of my own and it worked great. Now, many years later, I used this to spray on some chalk/pastel drawings done by my sons when they were young and it seems to do the trick! (I am not going to try smearing the colors to see just how it works, however.)
