As someone who recently purchased the Krups F054 00 Descaler, here’s my honest take on its pros and cons:Pros:Effective Descaling Power: The Krups descaler does a fantastic job removing limescale and mineral deposits in my Krups coffee maker. After using it, I noticed an immediate improvement in both the taste of my coffee and the machine’s performance. The descaling process was thorough, and it left the internal components of my machine looking almost new.Easy to Use: Each pack comes with clear, simple instructions that made the descaling process pretty straightforward. I followed the steps provided, and the product took care of the rest, making it convenient for anyone who isn't particularly tech-savvy.Good Value (Pack of 2): Having a two-pack is a nice touch since descaling should be done regularly to maintain the coffee maker's quality. The pack of two makes it easy to have a spare on hand, and for the price, it’s a good value for extending the life of my machine.Safe for the Machine: Unlike some harsh descaling products, this formula is specifically made for Krups machines, so I felt confident using it without worrying about damaging any parts. It worked well with no strange odors or residues left behind.Cons:Limited to Krups Machines: While it’s ideal for Krups models, I wouldn’t recommend it for other coffee makers since it’s formulated specifically for Krups. If you have multiple coffee machines from other brands, you might need a different, more universal descaler, which can be a bit inconvenient.Price: Although it’s not prohibitively expensive, there are more budget-friendly descaling options available that also work on various machines. For someone who is more budget-conscious, the Krups F054 00 might feel a bit overpriced, especially considering its single-brand compatibility.Overall Verdict:The Krups F054 00 Descaler is a solid, reliable option for Krups coffee machine owners who want to maintain the quality of their coffee maker. Its targeted formula is effective and straightforward, making it worth the price for Krups users. However, if you own other brands or are looking for a multi-use solution, you might find it less convenient.

Bought this to clean a Krups FL700D Electric Tea Kettle, hoping it would be the right one to clean it. Luckily I kept my instruction manual for the tea kettle, but I was nervous to use this, as it said not to use citric acid, and this product appears to have some type of acid. The instructions were also vague because it did not specify the amount. So I crossed my fingers hoping it would work. I love my tea kettle but the hard water scaling was getting worst every day and I was concerned the kettle would stop working, and life without tea is just not an option. I used the hard water test strip and it showed 2 red blocks so I figured I should use half the amount. I filled the kettle up to the max fill line with cold water and added 1/2 a packet. I dissolved it for about 30-45 seconds until the stains disappeared and that's it! It looks brand new. I should mention the kettle was cold and I did not turn it on at all, it was done with cold water only and the appliance was off.

I was skeptical about this product given how poorly my coffee maker has been performing of late. Mind you, I have a Krups IL Caffé Bistro Model 867, which is at least 14 years old, old enough that I forget exactly which year I got it as a gift for Christmas. In any case, It has been a trusty coffee maker for all of that time up until the last month when it started to do a lot of gurgling/percolating and overproduction of steam. It was also taking at least 45 minutes to an hour to make a pot and I would lose about two cups of water in that time due to the steam. I was worried I would have to purchase a new coffee maker until I saw the decalcifier as an option. The instructions that are in my manual indicate 4 cups (32 oz.) of water (comes up to the "7" marker on the side of the pot) to dissolve the product into, though the instructions were geared for the espresso maker on the unit (rarely used on my part). I did what others have done in their reviews, which is to run about half of the solution through the system, switch the system off for at least 10 minutes, and then switch it back on to run the rest through. I immediately started to see little white pieces of crust show up in the pot, which I assume were the calcium/mineral deposits. I flushed the system twice with water and decided to use the second pack of decalcifier given the age of the machine and the fact that I'd never cleaned it in this way before. I'm going on my 4th pot of water to flush out the second cycle and I'm still seeing the mineral deposits showing up in the pot after the water passes through. I'll probably keep flushing the system until I stop seeing the calcium chunks, though thankfully with a filter in the mix they won't make it into the brew anyway. The best part is that the brew time is much improved, down to about 15 minutes for 12 cups (I overfill the 10-cup pot), AND, the perpetual gurgling an sputtering has gone away!

As they all say, no instructionsI following advice from one of the other reviewers: dissolve in warm water, add this and more warm water to fill half the tank. Run a cup of water through immediately. Wait ten minutes. Run the rest through. This all went ok.However, now the machine is completely clogged: When I try to make coffee, it pumps for 30 seconds, and then lights flash indicating it cannot continue. The espresso machine worked fine until I used this product - it was just a bit slower than it was when new. Now it is worthless.Espresso machine info:TYPE: XP528REF: XP528050

I have a Krup Bistro combination coffee maker and espresso machine, and the coffee was starting to take over an hour to brew 10 cups. I tried vinegar and other coffee maker cleaners sold in stores. The machine is over 12 years old and no longer being made, but we love it so much that I went online and researched products to clean it and found this item. It came to me in three days, tried it following the instructions given by another poster, to dilute it in water; I used half a pot with one packet, started the brew cycle, stopped it mid-stream, let it sit for 15 minutes, then finished the cycle. After that I ran two pots of plain water through to clean it out. Ten cups of water came through in less than 10 minutes, just like when the machine was brand new. This is the best product ever!

I bought the descaller (is it really spelled that way?) for my ancient Krups Il Primo espresso machine. No instructions came in the box. It took forever to get any help from Krups and then the instructions were for much fancier machines. So here's what I did:Dissolve the packet in 500ml of water. I did half a packet because my machine could not hold all that much.Pour a third of the mixture into the machine. Steam some of it and let the rest go through the coffee basket.Do that again. Then heat it up and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. And then expell the mixture.I found "crud" in the basket. Next time I will check the basket after each round.I then ran plain water through the machine several times. Maybe it wasn't necessary but it made me feel better.
