I have never had a flower drying kit before and I am surprised at how little it entails to dry flowers. Or rather such simple materials. I looked into it and this kit is in fact the norm for what is used to dry flowers for most people the "professional" way. It comes with a nice manual showing you how to do it all. The wood plates are nice. They are real pieces of wood with their etched burned logo on it and some decorative bits. Inside are the square-shaped sponges and heavier plain paper sheets that are used to go before and over the flowers. The kit also includes many bookmark parts for making bookmarks with the dried flowers you make. There is a good video in the listing to show you the process however, the kit they are using is slightly different from this one. In their video, you can tighten the wood together in the end so nothing can fall out and it also helps to press the moisture out of the flowers. But this kit does not include those pieces, nor does it have the holes in the wood to screw them in. Kind of disappointing. It does include a Velcro strap to put over the whole thing to keep everything together. Maybe that can be used. The kit also includes plastic tweezers and little nail cutting scissors. No craft knife, however.

I LOVE this kit. We've been doing a lot of traveling lately, and one of my favorite ways to remember my trip is to pick a wildflower or leaf and press it. Typically I pressed these beauties in one of my many books, but after clearing out almost all of my physical books in exchange for digital ones when we downsized, I started running out of places to press. I tried alternative ways of saving these, and it resulted in moldy and crumbling messes that I couldn't do anything with.I had just lost three months of collected flora that had molded when I came across this product. I cannot wait to try it on our next trip! The kit comes with 30 pieces of absorbent paper, 6 pieces of cardboard, and 6 pieces of sponge, as well as 2 outer wooden boards and 2 straps to dry and press your finds. It also contributes 5 bookmarks with 5 pieces of ribbon and 5 fringe straps, 5 pieces of adhesive pre-cut to seal your bookmarks, a utility knife, small scissors, and tweezers to your crafting supplies so you can make floral bookmarks with your pressings.This kit is well made and comes with very descriptive instructions. I can't wait to start using it! My teen is requesting one of their own so they can create their own travel memories.

This is a nice flower press that is easy to use and comes with lots of great accessories. The flower pressure is pretty big, not big enough to get long stemmed rose in there completely-But big enough to accommodate most of the flowers I grow that could be pressed. Numerous layers allow you to press multiple flowers at the same time. The velcro straps are really easy to use to tighten everything up. The front and back the press are solid wood and Should stand up to years of use. Includes five blank bookmarks, tassels, stickers to use with the bookmarks (clear laminating sticker to put over the flower), as well as a useful cutter, tweezers, and a tiny pair of scissors. The entire set comes packaged in a large Ziploc bag, and there is an additional large Ziploc type bag inside as well, I suppose they added one for storing pressed flowers maybe? In any case, this would be a great gift for anyone who is crafty and really enjoys flowers. I have used a microwave flower that is so much smaller before, and I am excited to put this one to use with my daughter. Good value, and I recommend it!

I got this to replace the one I'd been using with my kids. The old one was pretty typical but it was too small and was just cardboard sheets between the two ends. The straps were very thin and the end wood pretty flimsy.This one is such a huge improvement! The straps are nice and thick and long so they are easy to strap. The wooden boards are full quarter inch thick!The kit includes absolutely everything you might need. It even has padded layers cut to fit so it's able to handle flowers like daisies that have a thicker middle part. Our old one could only handle things like violets and pansies.The kit also comes with scissors, tweezers, a utility knife, and enough supplies to make 5 bookmarks.This comes with really good instructions for getting the best results, which I appreciate.While I got this to use with my own children, it would make a lovely present because it's very complete and looks really nice. And here's a quick tip: many empty lots have "weeds" that are actually really pretty wildflowers. So you don't need to be a gardener or a thief of someone else's garden in order to press flowers. You can also get the cheapest bouquet of flowers at the grocery and it will usually have really pretty flowers for pressing!I'm going to be getting another one for my sister to use with the child she watches because I found out they've never pressed flowers!

This is a really cute set because it has everything you need to get inspired to start flower pressing. The instruction book was helpful too. My daughter enjoyed collecting the flowers but struggled to wait 2 weeks for a proper press. We will try again soon. I think this would make a very cute gift set for a nature loving kid.
