Either I have got a used one or the quality control is very low at Kraus. The inside of the air gap cover is warped and inconsistent. The silicone/rubber shows marks of usage. I expected a better product for the price.

KRAUS Dishwasher Air Gap in Chrome, KAG-1CH looks much better than most others. The air gap is high quality and works well with our dishwasher. Installation was smooth and fit the countertop perfectly.

I hate that this cost $30 or whatever but so much better than the plastic one that came with my $350 touch faucet. I get a perfect seal and strong clampng pressure from the base. And handsome!

This is a nicely made air-gap that looks great in a more modern kitchen with nicer fixtures. Not your typical Home Depot level rental house look. Nice that it comes in Stainless Steel and not plain nickel, so it matches the faucet and sink. Looks great, appears sturdy and does the job.

Our dishwasher was improperly installed without an air gap (not required by code in Canada) and the dishwasher waste was connected directly to the garburator. When the garburator sink filled water would back up into the dishwasher and since we never use the dishwasher the waste water would sit and fester and begin to stink. I thought it was the dog who usually sits in front of the dishwasher and admittedly does stink but no it was this waste water. I installed this air gap under the counter so that it is higher than the level that the garburator sink fills to and the problem has been fixed.

At first looks like an easy install, and has a good steel cap.HOWEVER! The hose sizes required are not posted in the product info, and the larger leg will NOT fit standard dishwasher drain hose step adapters, which go from 1" to 3/4" to 5/8".The small leg fits the 3/4" throat of the universal connector once you trim it down.I have to get some 7/8" heater hose from an auto parts store to finish the connection to my sink drain.Hardware store in my are do not stock any 7/8" hose at all.Either this should be clearly stated in the product info or an appropriate length of hose should be included.

Ordered the stainless steel finish. Matches my faucet's color well. Feels sturdy and well made. Two things to take note of:1) The product description says 1.5" hole required, this feels too large. Go with the standard 1 3/8". It may even fit 1 1/4" - my caliper measured diameter as 1.2175".2) Unlike some other brands, the cover also acts as the top screw piece, it's not something you can just pop out.

Our sink cabinet interior is very crowded, with a large garbage disposal in front of the air gap, thus making my install probably more difficult than most. I discovered that the gasket that sits on the top side of the sink rolled/curled up when I had to twist the air gap to make it fit the space under the sink. That gasket is made of foam. It would have been nice if it was rubber like the one that installs under the sink. Since the foam gasket was ruined, I continued the install with plumbers putty. The stainless cover is solid metal and really well made. Overall I am very pleased, just knocked one star because a rubber gasket on the top side would have made this air gap perfect even for difficult installations.
