I have used these a few times and have been pleased with the outcome. I have noticed the brand name versions have poorly made drill points making the bit walk at the start of the hole. I didn't have that experience with these.

Not super happy with this, but might be user error.I have used regular taps many times. Was hoping to use these away from my "shop" on some mild steel square tube.First attempt, using tap oil, the tap broke off. Big bummer. May have been my fault, but others who witnessed the failure said I did everything correctly.

These drill/taps are etched with their size, BUT unfortunately one of the Metric taps is labeled incorrectly. It’s labeled as M10x1.5, and should be labeled M8x1.25. There is already a tap labeled correctly as M10x1.5. Other than that, I can’t find anything else wrong.

The bits are easy to use, they start easily with a hand drill, just go slow and reverse as you go to remove fillings, also use cutting oil.

I have used 2 different bits, and they both performed perfectly. The drill part went smoothly (and quickly) and then the speed has to slow down for the tapping, so there is a bit (haha) of a learning curve. The direction transfer to reverse went well both times, but handling the drill while the tap is part way in material makes me nervous. All said and done, the Kraftex Drill and Tap Bit Set is a quality buy. I recommend this product for folks that want to put bolts in stuff. The bits have worked fine for me!

Haven't used this for any projects, but I did test it in some plexiglass and it worked well. There's a bit of technique to learn, so practice on some scrap material. What worked for me was to use the drill bit portion to drill the hole and the pop it out of the drill/driver quick release and manually turn the tap section into the hole to cut the threads. If you have a steady hand, you can probably use the drill driver to cut the thread if you keep the speed very low.
