Many countersinks these days have their edges wierdly sharpened, to the point of leaving streaks. This countersink is actually finely ground and doesn't have that problem. To show the difference, see my second picture, which shows the difference between this countersink (on the left) and another manufacturer on the right.This is also solid carbide, and you can tell - it cuts through cold rolled steel like butter.Please note that you have to be careful with solid carbide cutters, these work best in stationary drills because while carbide cuts steel easily, it does chip easily as well if you are not careful - this is why some recommend cobalt over carbide if your application is via hand drill etc.But for the intended purpose, this one is excellent.

This counter drill is superior to my expectations given the modest price. The flutes are well-aligned and sharpened to perfection.
