It took about 15 minutes to thread the KNA NG-2 into my Cordoba guitar my first try (now it’s less than five to swap it in and out). I instantly plugged it straight into a little 1w Blackstar tube amp. The sound was amazing. There was a lot of tonal adjustment I could get with just the KNA NG-2’s volume knob, and I was able to get a really accurate and woody replication of my guitar almost instantly. No hums, just Cordoba.I also plugged the bugger into a bigger Marshal acoustic amp, and then DI’d that into a PA. I didn't go too loud, but again, wonderful sound out the mains and monitors. For me, the KNA NG-2 worked great out of the box, with its included cables, with no need to switch out cables or add a DI boost. So, I haven’t found these necessary. The bugger is fairly delicate though. I leaned my guitar on its side against a wall, and it fell on its face and onto the pickup. This caused the pickup to crack along the seam where the housing met the popsicle stick bit. I superglued it all back together, let it set a day in some clamps, and the thing is as back to good as new.Since the thing’s easy to put in and out, I’d recommend not leaving it in if you don’t need too. Although it is sorta pretty.

Far better than the last piezo I had, especially with noise rejection. When I first hooked it up I did a double-take. I could’ve sworn my nearby LED lights were off because the background noise was so low but they were ON. My previous piezo picked up everything. The sound quality is just fine. Big and bold. Great bass and smooth treble. I love having a volume control. All that and no battery to deal with!.You will want to protect this pickup from getting yanked on by the cable. The kit includes a little clip to attach to your clothing. What I did was attach a short 1/8” male to 1/4” female adapter cable and fix it to the soundboard with non-marring, removable sticky tape and two tie wraps and two anchoring bases. (See the pic)That said, It remains to be seen how durable it’ll be. The old one was fragile, too, but this one, with the volume control, is taller. Probably safer to use a hard case if you’re transporting your instrument.Overall a great product and it works really well.

It sounds much better than much more expensive internal pickups on the market. Great discovery.

Easy to install and sounds very good on my mid 60’s Gibson classical guitar. Be aware that the pickup is a bit harmonic and very sensitive to the touch if you touch it with your palm when playing. In order to avoid feedback or unwanted noise, use a DI box and run it thru an acoustic amp or PA system. Replace the cord that comes with it with a better quality balanced one. All this said it does work as advertised.

I almost snapped off the base from the stem of the pickup. It hangs out past the bridge, so be careful. I took a wine cork and cut a disc to support the base and the guitar so it wouldn't snap off if I bumped it. I also had to buy a new saddle because the pickup added enough height that I was getting a slight buzz. It raised the action a bit, but I adjusted the saddle and it works now.

I'll start out by saying that I'm loving this pickup! It has solved a real problem for me in amplifying my classical guitar! This is a great pickup solution that didn't require ANY modification to my guitar, which was important to me because I needed to find an amplification solution that didn't require me to drill any holes in my vintage classical guitar. And because it's installed on top of the tie-down block and not the saddle, it doesn't interfere with the strings at all, nor mess with the intonation because the strings still make full contact with the saddle. Now while I technically could simply mic the guitar, when performing with a band, that's not practical because the mic will pick up the ambient noises, plus require me to be in a fixed position. But with this pickup, I can move around and not worry about picking up any ambient sounds. As far as sound is concerned, though a piezo pickup, it's very natural sounding and very sensitive, capturing the subtle harmonics that my guitar produces. Of course, it's not as rich as the natural sound of the guitar, nor as dynamic as miking it. But for amplification, it does a wonderful job! Plus, no "quack" that piezo pickups are notorious for producing. And the sound quality is so good that the only person who would be able to tell the difference is me.Now, to be completely honest and transparent, the pickup does produce a bit of hum if plugged straight into an amp or interface. But that's easily eliminated by running the signal through a DI first. Once I did that, the hum was completely eliminated and the pickup is absolutely quiet. I've read negative reviews elsewhere from others complaining of the hum and I'd daresay that they probably ran it straight into their amp without taking advantage of the impedance switching and filtering of a DI.Amazingly enough, I had no feedback issues whatsoever with this pickup. I tested it while sitting next to my 100 Watt BOSS Katana Artist with the master volume cranked. It was loud, but I didn't get any feedback so that's a real plus! A pickup system like the Anthem or even the Mag Mic would feedback if I played that close to the amp at high volume. Yet another plus!Needless to say, I'm very pleased with this pickup. Not only does it have great sound, but it's also a very affordable solution. What's not to like about that?
