I really K&N, they have great filtering attributes for air or oil. I used the cartridge for a 2007 Mazda 6I, and it fit exactly like you'd expect.

Before using this filter, I had tried the . The PS-7013 was slightly too tall and the filter housing slightly crushed the filter when tightened fully. This filter, however, the HP-7013, is a perfect fit and seems to be much better quality than the PS-7013. It's German-made, and showed no signs of stress after an extended drain interval (11.5k miles). As others have stated, it appears to be at least as good, if not better than the OEM Mazda filters. These are what I'll be using from now on.UPDATE 3/15/2014:Now that this filter has been discontinued and the price has risen considerably, I recommend giving the a try. The Mahle filter is very well made (in Austria), and may even be superior to this K&N filter. It includes inner supports to prevent filter collapse and is the exact dimensions of the K&N filter so you won't have any fitment issues. Mahle is the OEM filter brand on my MINI Cooper, which is intended for long oil drain intervals with synthetic oil. I plan on using the Mahle filters from now on.

The seller clearly states the following item: K&N HP-7013 High Performance Oil Filters for $10.39What I actually received is K&N HP-7013 Pro Series Oil Filter, which is listed for $6.64There was no retail or factory packaging, two filters simply stuffed into a plain thin white cardboard box and taped all over. The seller, AKS RACING, is ripping off people.

I've tried several filters in my MS6 and none will fit as well as this one. All the filters I've tried, Fram, STP, MobilOne and they all are crushed when installed reducing the filters performance and increasing the chance of failure. The K&N filter also has tight and evenly spaced pleats for maximum filtering surface and flow. Bottomline is it works as intended; it fits properly, it filters the oil, and when its used up and removed it doesn't come out in a twisted mess that looks like it may just have been a wad of paper towels stuck in the filter housing.

I purchased a OEM filter from Ford on my first oil change, for my 2009 Ford Fusion 2.3 liter. I again went and purchased another Ford OEM filter on the second oil change. When I changed the filter what I noticed was the OEM filter had colapsed in two places. I am not sure if it was supposed to do this or not. It is my opinion it shouldn't. It was a crumpled mess. I decided that I better upgrade to a premium filter and I am glad I did. So, I checked out Amazon and purchased the K&N Oil filter and when it came I noticed the filter is much more ridgid and smaller than the OEM filter. I don't think that I will have the same problem with the K&N filter. You can tell it is much better quality, just by the feel of the filter and the coating they have put on it. I will never purchase any filter other than the K&N again. I thought by going OEM I was doing my car a favor, but I was wrong.Update on the filter....The K&N filters do not collapse like the OEM filters did. These are high quality filters and through Amazon the price is right. Do your car a favor and stick with the K&N. There is no telling what kind of damage the other filters are doing, or premature wear they are doing when they collapse like that. I haven't had a problem with any K&N filter after 6 oil changes, since my last review.

UPDATE: Nov. 2013: make sure the vendor has and ships the HP series version, not the inferior PS series. K&N has DISCONTINUED the HP-7013, so gettum while you can. : - (------K&N are known for making fortified oil filters, but I didn't think there was much they could do to improve the pleated paper insert that goes into the permanent metal oil filter housing on my 4 cyl. Mazda 6.Yet, the first improvement I noticed were the end caps that hold the pleats in place. The Mazda factory filter, and all aftermarket filters I have tried so far, have rubber discs that are glued to the edges of the pleats.K&N have taken a plastic and dipped both ends of the pleats, embedding the paper into both end caps. The plastic is pliable and contains a bead for a good seal. All other filters use a disc of mesh around the center hole on both ends.I don't have the means to perform micron analysis to determine how much or how little dirt gets through the filter. But I will be able to tell come next oil change whether this filter has fractured and collapsed along the paper folds, as I have noticed with other brands.K&N include both O-rings, as do all other suppliers of this filter. I do not see any particular quality difference in these components. Will update in about 2,000 miles.Using Mobil 1 synthetic 5W-20, combination of high-speed and in-town traffic.
