As a retired person I need to consider carefully before spending a chunk of my pension on any new interest or hobby but I have a few friends that enjoy playing the ukulele and i fancied having a go myself, so I started looking to find one that would be good enough to learn with, and still be good enough to be able to enjoy playing - hopefully for several years to come !There are plenty of cheap ukuleles available, and advice from several sources was that there was no need to spend too much on one to get started, so with that in mind I started my search with Amazon and liked the look of the Kmise Soprano outfit that came with a soft case, and a spare set of strings with a neck strap and basic handbook. From what I could see online, the ukulele looked to be nicely finished and had some good reviews, so I decided to part with £49.99 and make this my first ukulele purchase, even though I know of nobody else that had bought one of this make.On delivery I couldn't have been more pleased. The finish of this ukulele was first class and it looked and sounded like a much more expensive instrument. The neck has a lovely "low action" that makes it very easy to play (with no buzzing from the frets) and the tone that it produces is absolutely beautiful. The soft case is also good enough and the included neck strap fits and works as it should, so my first two days of ownership has been very encouraging.Ownership day 3 however, brought me back down - with a bump!Amazon started selling this exact same ukulele outfit for just £39.99 - a massive £10 less than I had only just paid for mine! Naturally this has not been received too well, but I could send it back after ticking the reason for making the return as "found at a better price elsewhere".In an attempt to save unnecessary handling (and courier charges), I have asked Kmise (via Amazon) if they would consider giving me a £10 refund, or a voucher to spend on another Kmise instrument in the future so I can stay with this excellent manufacturer/supplier without the hassle of returning this ukulele to them only to re-purchase exactly the same one again to save myself £10.This £10 saving is 25% of its overall cost, and this makes an already very good instrument package an absolute bargain - unless (like myself) you had only just paid £49.99 for it!****Kmise customer service is outstanding - they refunded the tenner! I can definately recommend buying Kmise - and I will doing so again in the future!Thank you Kmise.

What can I say, it arrived in just a couple days of ordering so they're fast to get it to you. Everything that was listed came with, no scruffs, dents, or bends on anything. Plus all I needed to do was just a little fine tuning. So all in all I'd say this was a great buy!

I purchased a really cheap ukulele years ago to mess around with - and while it gave me the itch to play, it does come de-tuned after few minutes of strumming... So I turned to Amazon to find a better beginner's uke - landing here and buying this model. I got very pleasantly surprised! The one I received was flawless (no cracks, no scratches, all the wooden surfaces are impeccable) except for some frets that were a bit sharp. Incidentally, Kmise supplies a tiny piece of sandpaper... After minute sanding of the fret wires, my uke is perfect! The tuning cogs are great, the tuner is surprisingly decent (it works!), and the gig bag, while not hard plastic, will do the job if you are careful. The uke comes with strap pegs installed and a strap - but if the strap is not horrible, it's not great either. It's good to have in the kit, but you may want to eventually get yourself a nice one.To top it up, the included instruction booklet is high-quality documentation and includes basic chords and tips for beginners. Definitely recommended if you're on the market for an affordable, high-quality beginner's uke!

First off, you get what you pay for. Having said that let me list off what i think of it and why I gave it five stars. The Uke is of better quality than I was expecting. No dings or flaws that I can find so far. Sound quality is also above what I thought it would be. It is not going to sound like a high end Uke but again for the money I am happy with it. the strings are decent and remember they will be loose when you get the Uke and will need to be tuned... and tuned again till they stretch and hold the note.. Just to let you all know I am a beginer at playing a Uke so My knowlege of how things should be is limited. Now for the things that came with it. The strap is very basic but functonal, seems that it would be better for a kid than an adult. The tuner is basic but is easier to read and use than my Snark so far. The Capo is nice but it will not fit a guitar I think but perfect for a Uke. I have never used a rhythm shaker but this one seems okay. The picks and cleaning cloth are standard. I found it funny that most of the odds and ends were all pink lol. I almost forgot about the strings. I know nothing about strings yet so no clue if they are good or not.Like I said above for the money this is a great buy. This a basic nice Ukelele, good for kids and adults starting out,

TLDR: I did a lot of research before purchasing this Ukulele. For the price-point, this is a really great beginners Uke. I have no regrets on this purchase. The strings seems to be of good quality, and the craftsmanship of the Uke is beautiful.A note on the strings, it is NORMAL for them to go out of tune frequently in the beginning. They have to stretch. If you play it a little everyday it'll help the process go faster. Took maybe 4-5 days for me, but I didn't mind as it gave me good practice for getting it just right. The thickest string took a little longer but I only had to adjust it a few extra times. Now it stays pretty well in tune. Sometimes the pegs get bumped when in the soft case, but that is to be expected.I saw 2 posts note that the edge of the frets had a little roughness to them on the edges, and they used a nail file to smooth them out. I, too, noticed a little tiny tiny bit of roughness on the one I received. This is the only negative but can be remedied in a few seconds. It has a nice tone and is the perfect size for travel, playing in a car on long (and short) rides. You can play this softly so as not to disturb others if they are sleeping in the next room or on the phone next to you, or at a normal level as you would expect. It isn't super loud so outdoor playing may not be as loud as you like but from my understanding that is normal for the Soprano's in general. If you like to play outdoors or large rooms where sound doesn't bounce off the walls, maybe go for the Concert size. The Kmise Soprano is a versatile little instrument with a beautiful sound. The included tuner is perfect and simple to use. The little booklet that is included is by far the most helpful little guide I've ever received with an instrument. Be sure to read it and use it to get started. I've only had this little beauty for a few weeks and I'm much farther along than I expected. The case is nice and perfect for keeping the Uke dust-free between playing. It's been handy for carrying to and from the car/other destination, and from the weather.I reached out to customer support to let them know how much I loved this little Uke and they replied back quickly. I have zero concerns when it comes to working with Kmise and I'm happy I went with this Uke.
