This seat is simply comfortable for hours on end. I do recommend the optional back rest.I did eye surgery for 35 years and used many different styles of stools. Nothing compares to this one. It makes me eager to sit down and practice.

First off...I am a big guy at 6'5" and pushing 300lbs. Needless to say I wanted a stool that was sturdy enough but also adjustable enough. I wanted this for Double Bass, especially when I am standing at long rehearsals. However, I was very hesitant based on the price and looking to go with something cheaper. After a lot of looking (and reading reviews) my wife talked me into this one (which was also highly rated at my favorite online double bass retailer...but they did not offer a version without the backrest). It came well packed, and other than attaching the footrest it was fully assembled. The biggest challenge (trial and error) was finding a good height for both the stool and the footrest. I eventually played it for awhile only to lower it a bit more and bingo...the perfect setup. I can now transition quickly from sitting to standing with ease. The saddle shape and cushion is excellent, as is the build quality. I also love how it folds and is easy to transport. When sitting is it rock solid and I am fully supported. Note that earlier I mentioned backrest. I didn't order one with it due to 1)cost and 2)a review that mentioned the backrest made it less portable. After using this about two weeks now I am glad I didn't buy the backrest. I find the position I have doesn't need it, and I can see it would make it much less portable. Still, I can easily add it if my back demands it down the road. Finally, the adjustability is excellent. I have regular height stools for playing guitar (about 24") and am running this right at 30" and it is perfect for DB. Recall I am 6'5". I could raise this much higher, but even a few inches higher and I was having to raise myself up to get on the stool (I have a 34" inseam). At 30" I just sit back with no issues and easily stand up while playing. So, if you are like me and a bit put off by the price, don't be. This one is totally worth it and will get a lot of use. It has a 5 year warranty that gives me piece of mind as well.

Stool seat is comfortable but rubber legs keep falling off. Contacted seller and will sell new parts but won't replace parts that should stay on stool after 3 months...Not good customer service for a $324 seat and rubber feet are less than $5 to replace...Buy Elsewhere !!!

This is a great seat that you can sit in for hours. It folds up easily. Its a 5 star for comfort and sturdiness. However, for the price, a couple of other things would be nice. It would be nice if the seat could slide back a bit (like a bike seat on a commercial grade Keiser exercise bike). The foot rest also could stand for a couple more holes up higher.I am nit picking… its a great seat I will have for years.

Pleasantly surprised at the robust construction. Origin country is Germany, this is no shoddy made in China piece of junk. It costs a lot more that others offered, but it's worth it. Have done two 4 hour gigs so far and no complaints. It's fully adjustable to your height and is very comfortable.

Extremely durable. And very comfortable! I gave it 4 stars cuz I wish I could tilt the seat back just a notch. It almost feels like it’s tilted forward when it’s in its flattest setting. I also find myself sitting on the back ridge of the seat. But it’s way comfortable, so I’m a happy owner.

Yea.. it's not cheap. But it is well designed with top notch materials. Height adjustment and seat adjustment are very good. Seat is actually comfortable. A lot more than a flat bench or stool. And material feels a lot better than a hard surface. Folds up easy and not too heavy to take out to a gig. I use it for guitar and saxophone. Looking into the back brace now. I had high expectations as they were exceeded. Great performance stool.

My wife suggested I write this review for the attention of all ditherers out there, whom, if like me, are wondering whether or not to buy one of these stools. For decades now I have suffered unnecessarily it would seem whilst playing my guitar. I have tried all sorts of chairs and stools over the years and all of them resulted in me having an aching back within a few minutes of playing. I could never get comfortable, I would put one foot on top of the other to raise my leg to rest the guitar on, and I would fight against a swivel chair’s natural tendency to turn. Around 12 months ago, I came across the Konig and Meyer range of stools on Amazon, and it took me that length of time to hit ‘buy now’. Why oh why did I wait this long? The stool is excellent, easily adjustable for seat height, seat inclination (I have it parallel to the floor) and footrest height. After 3 hours of practice this afternoon, no aches and pains. What’s more, I definitely played better without the constant nagging effect of an uncomfortable seating position. It’s a perfect position to use stompbox switches too, and tap a foot in time to a beat. It’s easy to stand up from and to sit back down (I wear a guitar strap and the guitar feels perfectly positioned whilst seated). I like the way the feet position on the footrest, and it seems to take pressure of the back this way. Seat padding is firm yet plush - very comfortable indeed. I like the leather-look finish, and don’t confuse this with the horrible leatherette finish that peels, typical of cheap furniture. The build quality is excellent, and quick shipping from Europe (expedited delivery was supposed to be 3 days, it arrived in 2). The only assembly required was to clamp the footrest in position. It folds away easily and neatly for storage and carrying around. Not too heavy at all, but solid and sturdy. I went for the non-pneumatic one, figuring that once the height is set, I wouldn’t be wanting to change it; I am confident I made the right decision for me. So, if you are wondering whether or not this is a good purchase, in my opinion it most definitely is, so stop dithering and buy it! My only regret is not having purchased this stool sooner!
