I don’t have anything to write home about… just an old Technics rack unit combined with Bose 301 Series III speakers I picked up cheap and used to replace the original tower speakers. The Bose speakers definitely fit the “No highs, no lows, must be Bose” mantra. But then, so did the old tower speakers. I just wanted to eliminate the old tower speaker footprint. In an effort to get more bass, I came to the realization I needed a subwoofer with the Bose 301’s, and any gain I had made regarding the footprint of the old tower speakers was going to likely be nullified by the addition of a sub. I decided to go with the Klipsch R-100SW sub. I didn’t have a subwoofer jack, so I replaced the existing jumpers between the “Pre Out” and “Main In” jacks with MMF “Y” connectors and ran a left and right cable to the sub. Setup was very simple. After setting the crossover (about 1/2) and the gain (only about 1/3)… I got exactly what I was looking for… more depth and warmth to the music. As an added bonus, the Bose speakers actually sound MUCH better now. For the record I’m using it with just about every style of music imaginable, and it performs well regardless of the genre. My only question is, “Why did I wait so long?” In hindsight… this was a no-brainer. I still saved on footprint because this sub has about the same footprint as ONE tower speaker… and the quality of the bass reproduction is MUCH better.

I've had my Klipsch floor standing speakers since 1994. Still pumping clean, loud music, never had a problem. But, hey. Who doesn't like a little more bass?!I ordered the 2 pack of R-100 SW's and gave one to my son.We both love them. Not muddy. Not boomy. The built in amp is more than sufficient for our application. (Medium sized room.)For a larger room I would be thinking about a larger diameter driver (12", 14"), which would also pump more watts.Music and Television really came to life. A powered sub, such as this, takes the low frequencies away from the tower speakers, freeing them up to really sing the mids and higher ranges. My kid has this sub paired up with Klipsch R51- PM powered bookshelf speakers for an affordable, clean looking, and compact bedroom system.Synopsis: We both love this Sub. Would buy again.

Works perfectly with the Klipsch remote system. It has enough range to accommodate gut-pounding action movie explosion scenes at the top end, as well as a kick drum and bass guitar rumble at the low end.Flat black wooden enclosure with easily detached grill that matches the reference monitors and fits in with any existing decor.I would recommend setting it on an acoustic isolator to decouple it from the room.I’m a working bassist and, as such, I wanted a very neutral sounding reference for transcribing and recording playback. However, I also wanted something that would make my tv, CDs, and vinyls sound awesome via a few remote presses. These do just what I wanted for an affordable price.I ended up purchasing two systems; one for living room, one for studio. A bit excessive maybe, but quality sound is important to me.

Eu possuía um subwoofer da mesma marca, porém down firing e 8”. Fiquei receoso de trocar por de 10” e front firing, mas fiquei bastante surpreso com o resultado, além de um acabamento ótimo. Excelente produto.

When I installed this sub it sounded great, I just ran an old RCA cable across the floor from my new Denon Amp (also purchased from Amazon) the day the sub arrived, the next day, my new 50' Bluerigger cable arrived (also purchased from Amazon) and I ran it through the ceiling and walls. The sub switch was set to "Auto" shutdown, and that evening, when it did shutdown, a loud "pop" noise came from the sub. I contacted a local certified Klipsch warranty outlet as well as Klipsch Technical support. Both said that the sub was faulty after conducting a couple tests, one which was unplug the RCA cable from the sub and see if the sub still pops at shutdown, which it did it (the only thing plugged in was the 110v wall plug).I talked to Amazon, this sub is being returned as defective and a new sub is on the way.I gave this a 5 star rating because of the awesome sound and technical support from all involved including the Amazon rep I talked to. Hoping the replacement is not defective as these subs would have rolled off the assembly line pretty close to each other and that a batch of components could be faulty.

Not only great reviews on this sub, but also great sound. For a relatively small size, this sub gives a full and warm sound. Able to provide even a large room (55m2) with deep bass tones. Combined with my Marantz SR7013 and Monitor Audio Bronze 500 floorstanders makes the sound complete. Surprising for the money, but not surprising from Klipsch.

This Klipsch unit was number 3 on my short list of subwoofer choices. It came behind the Elac Debut 2.0 Subwoofer to pair with my Elac Debut 2.0 B2.6 (Amazon 1/21) which was on ebay as a cosmetically beaten up department store floor demo which I'm sure audio-wise got about as much attention as the wall moulding. The other was the JBL Sub 550p, a $600 machine on sale at Harmon for $200. This was a sealed cabinet, 50lb monster and I really lusted for it. Unfortunately, my funds finally came through 2 days after the Elac was sold and 1 day after the JBL's sale ended. Poor me, it was the Klipsch or nuthin'. As it happened, I was able to save myself a little $$$s by going for the Amazon reduced price option where I found a warehouse damaged item. It ended up being perfect and new in every important way.So as it turned out, poor me... nuthin'! Right out of the box this machine is a solid, imposing, impressive, almost monolithic piece of furniture. Set-up is easy as my HK 3490 Receiver has an RCA Sub Out. The Elac speakers are very inefficient at 86db sensitivity, so I set the gain dial at only 9:00 o'clock. The instructions advised 12:00 be the baseline vollume for a receiver hook-up like mine, but that turned out to be incorrect. At this point my understanding of LFE vs Line Level Output is still rather vague. I had also thought that a low crossover setting of 55-60 hz would suit the Elacs, rated for a 44hz low but I was wrong. I'm finding that 90 - 100 hz will still complement the speakers while supplementing their output, adding just a bit of low-end oomph. And after a short 10 day break-in period, I'm finding I'm really liking that bit of oomph with the cello of a Beethoven string quartet or the tympanic rolls of a Bartok concerto, instruments that I can now feel in the pit of my stomach.. But when I put on Romantic Warrior of Return To Forever or Imaginary Worlds of Sammy Figueroa and crank up the 120 wpc of the HK, the Klipsch, at present settings is more than enough force to knock me down and beat me up. Ahhhh....hurt me.To conclude, after break-in the bass on this unit is clean and tight and real powerful when you need it to be. At any of the Amazon pricings it represents an excellent buy and if you're looking for a sub for a medium range audio system it definitely merits your strong consideration. I'm certainly happy enough.
