Please see the back for warning information and disclaimers. Improper use of the kit may result in unsatisfactory results.

Application Instructions:

Step 1, Sandpaper - SCRATCH REMOVAL:

Important! Using the Scratch Pro Sandpaper will change the factory finish, and due to the wide variety of finishes of stainless steel appliances, it is not recommended to use this step on large surface areas, such as refrigerator doors. In most cases, you have to go over the entire surface in order to achieve a seamless blend.

Step 1 should be skipped if there are no scratches to remove, and you simply want to restore shine to the surface. Begin by cleaning the scratched area well with a mild cleaning agent. Then, carefully secure a piece of sandpaper to the foam gripper. Gently buff in the direction of the grain until the scratches are removed or their visibility is greatly reduced. This may take several minutes. Clean the area well before proceeding to step #2, again by using a mild cleaning agent.

Step 2, Orange - BUFFING:

Carefully secure the Orange pad to the foam gripper and apply a 1-2 inch strip of Orange compound #2 to Orange buffing pad #2. Hold the gripper firmly, and buff vigorously in the direction of the grain until the surface appears polished. Clean the area thoroughly of all residue before proceeding to step #3. Failure to completely clean all of the diamond compound #2 may cause scratching during the final step. Remove the orange buffing pad from the gripper and cover the used side with a plastic pad protector before storing.

Step 3, Black - POLISHING:

Carefully secure the Black pad to the foam gripper and apply a 1-2 inch strip of Black compound #3 to Black buffing pad #3. Buff with the polishing compound until the surface is sufficiently blended and polished. Finish by cleaning the area thoroughly of all residue. Remove the black buffing pad from the gripper and cover the used side with a plastic pad protector before storing.

Important Product Information:

  • ALWAYS clean the scratched area completely between steps, removing all traces of the previous compound before proceeding.
  • ALWAYS apply the compounds in order as marked on the syringes, and ALWAYS use the same buffing compound with its designated buffing pad, as these should NEVER be mixed or swapped.
  • When not in use, the buffing pads should always be covered by the included pad protectors. Once a buffing pad has been coated with buffing compound, it is highly susceptible to contamination by foreign particles, as these may stick to the pad’s surface and cause scratching. Never use a buffing pad that has been dropped on the floor, come into contact with the wrong buffing compound, or contaminated by any foreign matter or particles.
  • Store Scratch Pro compounds between 41° and 100° F. It is also important to avoid direct sunlight, as this may cause melting. ALWAYS replace the syringe caps after use to prevent leakage

I was amazed. This product actually works. I was able to buff out fairly deep scratches on my stainless steel stovetop that had been there since I bought the house.

do not do not buy this! We had very small little scratches on the stainless steel stove / oven and bought this to remove; followed directions and it made it so much worse!!! the first step is sandpaper! which seemed odd but we followed directions and sure enough, the sand paper , sanded the stove top and scratched the entire area we tried. The other two steps did not buff it out or do anything. Do not buy this for stainless steel fridges or stoves.

It worked well to remove scratches.

This worked well for the most part. However, the sand paper circles easily separate from their Velcro backing which makes it impossible to use the handle provided. You’ll have to sand it without the handle.

Our kitchen sink was clogged while I was away and my wife used a heavy duty chemical drain cleaner. It stained our stainless steel sink really bad so I bought this as a last resort before I was going to replace the sink as I tried every cleaner I could think would work.I used the sandpaper first and I used it with water in the direction of the grain and that worked great. A side note, after a while the backing material would separate from the sandpaper. You do need to remove the old backing material from the sanding block so the next sandpaper will stick to the block. I read some reviews that said the sandpaper won't stick to the block and I think this is the reason. After washing and drying the sink I used the 2nd step compound and rubbed that in well in the direction of the grain. I washed and dried the sink and then used the 3rd step polishing compound.I was very happy with the results. The sink doesn't look like new but the stains are gone and it looks perfectly acceptable. It does look better than it did before the stains and I don't have to replace the sink. The whole process took about an hour and I believe the more time you spend the better the results will be. Don't expect a 5 minute job.

The two stage polish in this kit is the true secret to beautiful results and worth the price by itself. Here’s my story: Since my kitchen sink was 17 years old and had suffered just terrible abuse from the previous homeowner as well as my own painting contractor, I knew that the few pads of 800 grit in this package were going to be insufficient. The sink had severe deep scratches, stains and a dull dreary finish from rinsing out oil based paint brushes with turpentine that even bars keeper couldn’t help. Honestly, it was disgusting. I knew even before I bought this package that I needed to buy a bunch of additional grit sandpapers, and that I was basically just buying this for the 2 polishes and the cool tubular handheld sanding block. I separately bought a pack of wet sandpaper that went from 80 to 10,000 grit. I started off at 80 grit and used every increment between 80 and 10,000 grit, rinsing and cleaning between each sanding. (80, 120, 200 300, 400, 600, 800, 1200, 2000, 3000, 5000, 7000 and 10000 grit. Then I finished it off with the two tubes of polish in this kit, following their instructions. The diamond polish brought the sanded finish from nice to just awesome. In total the project took me about 2 hours of elbow grease. Then I replaced the drain strainers and sink grid with new ones. The results speak for themselves. The sink looks better than new. I’d buy this kit again. Just Awesome! Just use your own judgement. If you have just light scratches the 800 grit in this package along with the polish might work … but for really poor condition sinks you’ll need to supplement with additional pre-sanding.

Bought it and don’t regret it! Worked great on stainless steel top but you need to put in a little elbow grease to do the work.

I had very high hopes for this product based on other customer reviews. While overall this product improved the look of my sink, it didn’t deliver a miracle. The sandpaper provided is very flimsy and doesn’t do a good job of buffing out scratches. After using the provided sandpaper, I ended up having to go over the area with my own 120 grit sanding block, which help to remove some of the larger scratches. The buffing compound didn’t seem to do much and the polishing compound left a light shine, not as bright or shine as other reviewers seem to have. Overall, this was a reasonably priced solution to improve a heavily scratched kitchen sink. I’ve attached photos, the first three are after using the product and the last three are before.

I know this is only supposed to be used on stainless steel sinks, but I had some serious scratches on my stainless steel dishwasher and refrigerator door that looked horrible. They were so bad I was thinking about replacing both even though they were fairly new. I gave this a shot, and I'm very pleasantly surprised by how well it worked.I read all the reviews and the instructions pretty thoroughly and decided to skip step 1 which everyone said changed the finish of the spot you work on. If you use step 1, then I read multiple people say you need to do the entire surface to make sure that the finish will match.I started on step 2 and buffed the heck out of the scratches i was trying fix. The ones on my fridge were a little deeper and I knew wouldn't go away completely but he ones on my dishwasher were caused by an errant Brillo pad cleaning (thank you hubby). Not deep, but it significantly scuffed the finish. After buffing a huge area on both appliances, I cleaned the solution off with water and clean soft towels. Then step 3 is the polishing. I polished the heck out of both surfaces, using the entire tube of solution. After washing with towel and water, and then a stainless steel cleaner, my appliances look great. The dishwasher shows no sign of scuffs and the scratches on my fridge can only been seen in the perfect light, at the perfect angle. If you didn't know they were there you would never see them. For $20 this product has worked wonderfully!
