First impression: I wanted good rope on a spool and that is what I was sent. I love that and was happy upon opening the package.I bought this rope to repair a cat scratch tree on a cat condo. My cat tower/tree came with sisal rope installed on the scratching post section. I ordered this style/type of rope as an upgrade from the sisal rope.I bought 200 ft on a spool so I would have plenty for now and future repairs and so I would not have to worry about the rope being a tangled mess when using and when storing.I am going to disassemble the cat tree, mount the post in my lathe, adjust the speed to as slow/low as possible but still rotating decently, place the spool on a rod mounted in front of the lathe so I can use my hand to put pressure on the spool so it puts tension on the rope when it winds on the cat tree post.I will use hot glue as I wind the rope on to the cat tree post. I expect to stop the rotation intermittently to apply plenty of glue during the procedure.Sounds complicated and to some it would be, but when it is working, it will be a simple easy to control process that allows the rope to be kept tight and the glue to be applied as needed and the rope to be under control and secured easily with staples at the start and end until the hot glue sets up at the end of the process.I might keep the staples in if I can do it so they are not to obvious, or maybe I will just turn the post so the staples are in the back and can't be seen. Since this is larger and stronger rope there is going to be a lot of tension on the ends while it is being used... LOL.I have a 20 lb Maine coon orange monster cat named Bo. He does not scratch my furniture and for that I am grateful, so, I need to keep Mr. Bo Kitty happy as he can shred a scratching post pretty quick. If this works well I might end up building Bo a much larger cat scratching post made with this rope. When he goes hard after his cat condo scratching post he can almost topple the entire cat condo and smaller scratching post. I'm betting he would really enjoy shredding on a larger version made with a 4 ft tall 6" diameter wood fence post covered in heavy duty rope and a cement base.

This is great rope for tying out a small canvas tarp and hanging a single person’s food in a tree. I will be using it as fore and aft lines on my wooden canoe.Natural rope is much nicer than the plastic stuff.

I enjoy working on crafts that involve jute, we also use it in our gardens. There is no noticeable odor. I will purchase again and also in different sizes/weight.

Bought this to accent planting pots. It arrived fast and as described. Will be buying other thicknesses to build an inventory of sizes for crafting and adding to presents. (I love giving a gift beautifully wrapped to let the person know he/she is important to me!)
