Kingston's carrara marble tops are polished, but they are not sealed. Polished marble has a shiny surface and resists stains. Natural stone, even when polished, is still somewhat porous and does remain susceptible to etching by acidic compounds like fruit juice, vinegar, some cleaning solvents, etc. For customers that wish to further protect their investment the granite can be sealed. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my sink. I had purchased this from Build.com directly and then had to return it because of an error by my contractor. After firing said contractor I tried to reorder this but was unable since it had been discontinued by KB. I was SO thankful to find this online and with the same quality delivery service as when ordered directly through build.com. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my sink! It was worth the hours of drama to get it.
