I've used Tarred bank line for years. Its wonderful. Strong enough for almost any day to day needs, easy to handle/manage, holds knots well, etc. Plus, its cheap enough you can cut/use it up over time, and not feel bad about it (unlike paracord, or other nicer cordage). Its been a staple of mine when moving, camping, and hauling stuff, for years. This, is not tarred bank line. Or at least not what I've ever bought/used as tarred bank line.It feels a lot more like your typical twisted nylon. Bluntly, it feels plasticky, and not tacky at all, and vaguely hay-like. It was enough different that I dug out the rest of my old tarred bank line from another seller, just to compare the difference in feel/texture, and it was significant.I'm sure it will work fine enough for general purpose use, and wont bother returning it. But, I'll need to find some "actual" bank line to replace it at some point. Its on me for not reading the reviews/description as well as I should have (all bank line I've ever had has been tarred, so I didn't look close enough :/).

Bought this just in case we go back 100 years or so by war or solar flare that takes out the giant transformers that take years and millions to manufacture. It's tough and I'm not comparing it to 550, but it will secure tarp for tent or wrap knife around pole for make shift spear. Would make great trot line or pull system to raise food out of reach of animals. Like I said it's cheap cordage and I promise I'll use it someday for something. Until then it's light af and belongs in survival/bug out bag. Hope this is helpful but I doubt it. Strong string too and I'm guessing about 80lb test or slightly more.

Product arrived packaged nicely, however I ordered (12) and received (11).Upon reaching out to the help team, the seller offered to refund the entire order, WOW!This product compares closely with products from Wurth Hardware.

This is nylon twine and as such is very smooth and "slippery". Not like a coated bank line. If you are using for the garden or general use it will be great. If using for bushcraft, knots will have a very hard time holding.

Product arrived quickly, neatly packaged. This bank line is incredibly strong. It's thicker than plain old string, but thinner than twine, but really really really strong. I haven't found clear information about what constitutes a "tarred" bank line, and just by observation I can't tell if it is or it isn't.But I will say that it performs and has all the characteristics as advertised 100%. It's strong. It's durable. It clearly is very low friction... which make me believe it IS tarred, because plain nylon would have more grip than this line does. Great stuff. I look forward to using it in all my bushcraft, and anywhere else I can come up with to use it. Tensile strength is supposed to be over 300 lbs.... I wouldn't use it to permanently support something over that... but it could temporarily probably take even more. But be safe. Please.

This product is advertised as tarred bank line, but is just plain un-coated 100% nylon string. It frays immediately upon being cut, and one must burn the ends to prevent further fray. it does not hold a knot unless under tension, and is twisted, not braided. It has approximately 5lbs. tensile strength. Not sure what it would be good for at all, unless you wanted to use it to braid a clothesline. But then, you could buy 50 feet of clothesline for half the price of this. Save your money and go get real bank line elsewhere.
