This was a gift for a child and was perfect! It takes a bit to find all of the treasures and took some adult help too. That's the only down side, is depending on the person's age it may take some help.

Sometimes you buy gifts and you think a big gift is better, but nope, this treasure chest and it's simple magnetic sands are awesome to my 4yo daughter.Yes the key bends when you try to unlock it.You don't need a brain the size of Einstein to figure out that's it's just a PUSH to make with the key instead of turning it and push towards the bottom, you will see when you first open it, it's a simple mechanism, so nothing that can't be taught to a 4yo lol...

So much fun to play! The decorative box and the accessories that come with it provide enjoyment for a little and big hands alike. The sand is the perfect consistency to shape things into. Highly recommend, great value for your money.

messy but good! my kids love this stuff and it comes with A LOT!! good quality. my 5 yr old uses it perfectly find. price is good for what you get. color is same as photo!! easy to use. comes with key to lock the lid. kid friendly but like i said very messy haha

I bought this for my 3 1/2 year old grandson. He had so much fun digging through the sand with the little shovel and finding all of the hidden treasures. We were both surprised when we discovered there was also a secret compartment with more hidden treasures. Now, before he comes to visit, I hide extra little “treasures” (toys or candy) in the sand, so every time he plays with it he’s just as excited and surprised as he was the first time.

My two sons aged 6 and 4 absolutely love this! They loved the little jewels but even after those were lost they just love the treasure chest, sand and tools that came with it. Would recommend for sure.

I got this as a Christmas gift and it was a hit! The price was really good at the time and it came with a little chest to hold everything. Kinetic sand will never be easy to clean or keep in one spot but I am aware of that. The kids love anything that has them dig to find treasure so they enjoyed that aspect of it. Sometimes just getting the refill bags of sand can be expensive but this came with sand, storage and a little treasure dig the boys loved.

My 3, 5, and 7 year old are having a blast with this! I love that the treasure chest is its own container for all the kinetic sand. Kinetic sand in general is a little bit of a clean-up (although I find it is easy to vacuum or sweep, so way easier than any sort of slime), but that doesn't bother me. I love all the accessories that come with this too that help get the child's imagination going! My only critique is that the "key" that comes with this is easy to lose and tricky to use. You basically just have to put it in and press up a little for it to open, but I have not been able to open it without the key (I'm sure in a pinch I could insert something similar size) and my kids can't get past the idea that you don't turn the key so they have to call me over whenever they want to use it. I would love to have seen the key just be an imaginative piece to it, not actually needed to use it!
