This set comes with a lot of items for the price, but several are redundant and most seem cheaply made. They do throw in a pretty advanced compass though. It made a good gift for my 5 year old bc she liked getting such a big kit, but I don’t know how much use she’ll get out of most of it outside other than pretend play. For comparison, I bought the Melissa and Doug outdoor explorer vest for my younger child, and the pieces are fewer but more durable.

We have used this item almost daily since it arrived. Everything for bug hunting, and exploring the outdoors around you is included. It is durable, everything fits nicely into the knapsack for on the go bug hunting. I cannot recommend this purchase highly enough. This will be a go to for christmas/birthday presents for all of the kids in my life!

We bought two of these kits and took them on a camping trip. Our kids (8 and 5) loved them! They spent hours looking for bugs to put in the containers, examining things with the magnifying glasses, playing with the nets in the river, looking through the binoculars, and using the compasses on hikes. The blue tweezers with the ball on the end was a game-changer for catching bugs! Many of the items are sturdy, but a few of them seemed to be a cheaper plastic that might break if used roughly, but all in all these kits were definitely worth the money!

I like that this product caters to the children and their love of exploring. I gave these as gifts to my goddaughters children. She hikes with her family on weekends and this is perfect to keep them interested in the outdoors. So much better than the toys they usually get and lose interest in the first 15 minutes. This gift will last for many outings to come.

I like that with this little kit, a child can explore, and use his/her imagination. No, it's not very sturdy, but with care I think it will bring hours of fun adventures. The plastic is, well plastic. If it's dropped or stepped on, I doubt it will hold up very well. But the pieces are well thought out, and put together well. Yes, the "butterfly net" is small, but it's perfect kid size. I bought this for my 6 yr old great-granddaughter, who loves to look for, find, and give names to backyard bugs.

The Kidz Xplore Outdoor Explorer Set has been a favorite of all three of my kids—ages 10 and 4—and I am super happy that I ordered it just before summer began! This 20 piece set is simply amazing and includes everything a little explorer would want to use to discover the great outdoors. This set has allowed my three kids to turn our backyard into their own perfect jungle. They have uncovered frogs, toads, and so many other creatures. Each item included is sturdy and has held up well to little hands that can get rough and tumbly with them. I love how the set comes with a storage bag in bright yellow so it is not easily misplaced and it has enough space to hold each item and more. If you are looking for a set to entice kiddos to get outside and investigate nature, this is the kit for you!

Bought this for my 4 year old grandson and he loves it. He opened it and announced he was going outside to find bugs! So far it has assisted in the capture of many bugs and a baby turtle. Binoculars are the perfect size for kids.Ended up buying another one as a gift for my 4 year old niece because she loved it too. It is plastic but has lots of little containers with magnification that make viewing fun. Love a toy that gets kids outside exploring nature and this fits the bill.
