My 4.5 yo loves this! The paper is cheap and you can go back and print duplicates also if you want an extra or if it didn't print properly. Sometimes it jams up or just doesn't print so she has to bring it to Mom to help. You can transfer the pics to a computer or print at a kiosk as well. Price was good, just gets jammed up and hard for her to fix on her own.

By modes, I mean switching between taking pictures and taking pictures with an automatic printout. Both modes are useful. But in the hands of the target audience, it's a bit cumbersome to switch between the two.First off, we tried this camera with a four-year-old to see what they can do with it. This is a lower age of the target audience, but it is useful for the aspiring older toddler photographer. The point and shoot mechanism mode works flawlessly. Other than some needed lessons in shot framing and composition. the toddler puts what she wants to take a picture of in view, then presses the shutter button. The button is in an easy-to-use position. Instantly, the image, no matter how crooked it may be, is recorded. The pictures can be retrieved almost as easily as those from any other dedicated digital camera. You can download it to your computer to print it in color or send it off to your favorite printed image service. But wait... you didn't get this camera just to be a regular digital camera. You got it because of the novelty feature of printing pictures as soon as you take them. This feature must be turned on by moving the display cursor to a special icon and selecting it. It would be nice if there was, instead, a single button to turn this feature on or off. When you do turn the print feature on, every picture you take will not only be recorded to memory storage, it will initiate a black & white printout on thermal paper printing directly out of the front of the camera... regardless if your child's hand is in the way of the paper or not.We had to work with the child to hold the camera a slightly different way to avoid her fingers from blocking the paper output. Once she understood where the print was coming from, she re-adjusted her grip on the camera to stay out of its way.The prints are simple, but a nice novelty. They are literally black & white. There is no grey shade in the mix. But they are fun for the child. This isn't a professional camera, but when your child (or grandchild) takes a crooked picture of a blurry butterfly, or the cat with half of its head missing from the frame of the image, and hands that newly printed and ejected picture to you on a small piece of paper that was poorly torn off the front of the camera, you WILL cherish it!If you want to give your child a nice toy to take pictures and be creative, this is a good camera. Just be ready to work through its somewhat cumbersome, but not impossible, menu and mode selection system.

The print is dark you need good light for any good pictures but it’s great for my 4 year old.
