JURY'S STILL OUT-WE HAD A STANDARD SMOKE/CO ALARM NOT FAR FROM THE KITCHEN AND WERE CONSTANTLY BOTHERED BY FALSE ALARMS. IF THIS KITCHEN RATED ALARM ELIMINATES THE FALSE ALARMS BUT STILL PROTECTS I WILL BE VERY SATISFIED WITH IT. AT PRESENT IT'S ONLY BEEN IN SERVICE A FEW DAYS BUT SO FAR NO PROBLEMS. A BIG PLUS IS THE BUILT IN 10 YEAR BATTERY.

Good news was that it didn't go off at 2am. Bad news is that it alarmed that there was a fire with 3 beeps and 3 beeps and... The silence button didn't work even after 20 tries. I still can't hear after being deafened. Moving it outside didn't help either. So a screwdriver finally killed it.
