This is my fifth k&f concept filter. I’ve never been disappointed with the quality they deliver, this filter is no exception. The precise machining on it and the nice smooth variable filter media stays where it is turned too, not too stiff and not loose. Comes with a nice storage case that’s protective and a trio of microfiber cleaning clothes. Excellent product and image quality.

K&F for me is the first choice for camera filters these days. They make a wide array of filters for your cameras at different price points but each is a fantastic value for the quality that they provide. This filter is no exception. Offering both VND and 1/4 Black Mist in a single filter it eliminates the need for stacking filters if you are looking for the effects of both. Overall this is an excellent filter if you are looking to soften your image and cut down on the light entering your lens. Ideal for outdoor portraits.

K&F’s combination of a black mist and variable ND filter is innovative. I have only tested this filter on one lens—an FE 70-200 f/4 ii. Rolling through variations of the same shot, I saw gradual change; the reduction in glare, noticeable. I have four lenses with 72mm threads, and this filter will get plenty of use. I am very pleased to own it.I have purchased a number of K&F filters previously, and other K&F products. I have found that its products are of excellent value and quality. I sometimes wonder whether the purported quality of higher priced filters is marketing-driven; whether it’s more about reinforcing our perceptions about the relationship between price and quality, rather than real-world performance improvements.There are likely superior filters - filters with glass reclaimed from ancient Greek vases. However, this combination filter will serve me swimmingly. I mightn’t even be able to tell the difference.You’re getting a lot of performance from this filter at a very reasonable price. It’s a precision-built filter with flawless engineering. All K&F filters come with a sturdy, light case, and three cleaning clothes.

I am very happy with this filter. I like K&F products, not my first and it won't be my last either. Though I do have another diffuser, that one doesn’t have the ND filter. This filter gives a nice soft, cinematic look which I enjoy in portraits. I will especially be using this for portraits, but it doesn’t take away too much of the sharpness.The ND filter works smooth, I did not notice anything weird, it's kind of like the other ND filter that I have, minus the Diffusion. The filter overall feels solid, well made, and it is a great addition to my gear, even though I won't be using it all the time, I am happy to have it.

En voilà une bonne idée ! Associer un filtre Black mist à un filtre ND variable ! Alors qu’habituellement je devais superposer deux filtres pour obtenir le même résultat, K&F à eu l’excellente idée de proposer ce filtre association des deux filtres… Tout d’abord la conception est sans faille ! Comme souvent K&F propose un produit de très belle qualité au prix particulièrement bien étudié… Le packaging ne surprend il arbore les canons de beauté habituels de la marque ; ) Il renferme une boite de protection en plastique de bonne qualité et qui protègera très efficacement son filtre avant qu’il soit fixer à sa lentille ou son porte filtre préféré. Les finitions donnent confiance et on prend vraiment plaisir à utiliser ce filtre lors de ses sorties photo/vidéo. Le filetage est impeccablement usiné et la fixation à ma lentille anamorphique se fait sans aucune difficulté. Une fois fixé, le filtre fait perdre l’aspect « trop précis » propre au vidéos ou photos obtenues avec un iPhone… il crée un petit flou cinématique et cela se ressent principalement sur des lumières intenses… elles deviennent plus vaporeuses moins dures. En cas de forte luminosité générale, cela permet une plus grande latitude dans les réglages de son application. Finalement il reste à ce moment la toujours fixé sur ma lentille. Pour moi c’est un must have et comme souvent, K&F concept ne déçoit pas. Seuls les microfibres sont un peu contestables… en lieu et place des 3 microfibres proposés j’aurais préféré en avoir un seul mais plus grand. Car la taille de ceux proposés ne permet pas un usage facile pour nettoyer la lentille… Mais cela n’enlève bien entendu rien à la qualité du filtre en lui même.

I ordered this K&F Concept 82mm Black Diffusion Mist 1/4 & Variable ND2-32 in-1 Filter to use with my Fuji GFX100s.I love my Fuji GFX, but GF lenses are so sharp that they can be problematic for portraiture. A diffusion filter can produce results that require far less editing. This filter is dual use -- it offers a 1/4 strength diffusion filter with a variable ND2-32 neutral density filter.I've used many different variable ND filters before. They all share one characteristic: at the highest ND setting, they produce a black X across the entire image. That does not happen with this filter. Has K&F Concept discovered a new technology for variable ND filters? No. They eliminate the X by limiting how far you can rotate the ND filter. In other words, this filter could produce an even heavier reduction in light, but a hard stop on the filter prevents you from accessing it and, consequently, from reaching the point at which the X will appear.At its max, the ND filter will provide a 5 stop reduction in exposure. This is sufficient to allow for wide open apertures or relatively slow shutter speeds in anything but the brightest light.The filter itself seems well constructed. It screws on and off easily and smoothly. Even when tightened down, the filter could be removed without having to resort to a filter wrench. Rotating the ND filter is smooth, and the filter holds its position. Coatings are well done; I did not notice additional flare when the filter was attached. I used this on a 20-35mm lens and did not get any vignetting. I can't say that the filter maintains sharpness because it is designed to reduce sharpness.All in all, this is a useful filter to add to your kit.

As a long-term hobbyist photographer, I'm always interested in the new photographic "tools" that are being advertised. I enjoy photographing landscapes, which may include sunrises, sunsets and photos of streams and waterfalls. Other photographers understand how excess light and glare can make good photo results/outcomes more of a challenge.I was especially interested in this K&F Concept ND filter, because it was advertised as VARIABLE in adjustment (ND 2-32)! The product arrived in very good/secure manufacturer packaging, and the contents included the variable ND filter, as well as 3 sealed micro cleaning cloths. I ordered the filter in 82mm as this will give me greater available lens size options when using the variable ND filter; I have step up rings, which allow me to use filters that are larger in diameter than the actual lens installed on my DSLR cameras.The machining for this lens filter is obviously of higher quality. Fine mounting threads reveal absolutely no burrs and no seizing or grittiness in feel while installing or removing the filter from lenses. The filter finish appears flawless in matte black and includes an area of the circumference that is slightly serrated/grooved, which allows for easier gripping of the outside of this ringed ND filter.The variable ND capability allows for significant filtering outcomes for my photography projects given the ND 2-32 filtering levels available (see photos). I heartily recommend this economical, practical/useful K&F Concept variable ND filter to other photographers using DSLR and mirrorless camera systems.

En general, este filtro ofrece una buena relación calidad-precio para quienes buscan un filtro que combine la atenuación de la luz con un ligero efecto difusor. Con la combinación del filtro ND variable y el efecto Black Mist 1/4, el efecto es mejor de lo que esperaba. El ND funciona a la perfección, con topes definidos que facilitan el ajuste preciso de la intensidad. Es especialmente interesante el rango de 5 pasos de diafragma que ofrece. El efecto difusor del Black Mist es más sutil y solo se percibe realmente en contraluces y el efecto conseguido es de suavizado de contornos y pero sin perder detalles en la piel, de modo que es natural. El ajuste es perfecto, cero problemas.

I have been a professional photographer for the last 25 years and I've learned that it's almost always better to get what you are looking for in the shot in the camera and not rely on post processing..I frequently use various ND filters to stop down light, generally to allow me to use a longer shutter speed. I love motion blurring water, cars lights or more creatively like children with sparklers or running with light straps on their wrists. That's what ND can do for me.This K&F filter gives me more than a standard ND by adding the softening effect of Black Diffusion. This diffusion adds a beautiful softness, especially to any high brightness areas of the frame.Lastly, I have 5 different variable ND filters, most from big brands and most suffer from the same X pattern issue that is demonstrated in K&F's product photos. I detected NO X pattern at all with this filter which is FANTASTIC for me! This alone makes this filter stand out.Easy 5 Stars and easy for me to recommend this filter.I will update this review if anything changes within 1 year. A 5-star rating indicates the product meets my expectations for its purpose.
