Programmed it to my Ram 1500 np with the security pin and alphaobd but the passive entry does not work with the new key fob. But it works and is still cheaper then a trip to the dealer

I bought this and had a dodge dealership program it. It did not work at all! I had to buy an oem one from the dealer which worked right away.

I was a bit skeptical buying off Amazon as I seen some other reviews saying the proximity on the remote doesn't work so when i touch my door handle it should unlock.Well on my 2017 ram 3500 it works. I programmed the fob myself with Alphaobd and the Mx+ obdlink.I was able to buy the key , the MX+ and the Alpha subscription for a bit cheaper than getting the fob from the dealer.I swear I had to push my remote start 30 times to start the truck on my old fob but this one works as it should..it came with a blank key but I just swapped my key from old fob to this new one.. done..don't need a key cut.Soooo. It worked fine for me so far.

Ram truck owners. This key fob works. I was told by the locksmith that Ram truck are notoriously difficult to get aftermarket key fobs to work. This one works. The only thing that doesn't seem to work all the time is the door handle unlock. When the key fob is in my pocket, I'm supposed to be able to put my had in the handle and the truck will unlock. This doesn't work very often. All of the other features work, though. That's the reason for the 4 stars.

When after only 8 years, my original crapped out….i went down the road of going to the dealer. I bet you all know where that went (holy moly I was shocked on what they were charging). Read reviews on many aftermarket brands, and not just on Amazon, and settled on this unit. I know it came with easy to follow programming instructions, but I had a local Ram dealer program it for me (still that was $100). I had one small issue recently, while skiing and it got cold (bone dry but cold), and it didn’t work. I was 5 hours from home and freaking out a bit, but 10 mins of warming it up and presto.

First time my remote start has worked in years! I bought this in April 24 (now Nov 24) and was concerned I might brick my 2014 RAM 3500 but I watched a few YouTube videos and backed up the BCM like instructed then followed the YouTube videos instructions using AlphaOBD. Note: when using this program/app, you have to put the vehicle in ACC to get connected using your OBDLinkMX+ but to program the FOBIK you have to cycle the key to off. You still will have power to the OBD port unless you open the door prematurely, don’t do that. Then program the truck to the new FOBIK. If not, you will get an error saying something like the key is not in the lock position.

This works if you get a programmer. It will unlock doors and autostart.... however if you enjoy proximity you will be disappointed int his one. It advertises direct replacement but it is not.

Bought two of these for my 2014 ram 2500. My fob that came with the truck has always been a turd. Worked when it wanted too regardless of how new the battery was. It finally gave out me resulting in having to use key to open drivers door then the alarm goin off and having to quickly use the fob to press on push start to disable alarm. I downloaded jscan app..bought a vin sub and used it to pull the pin. If this is what your doin make sure to follow directions. Leave flashers on during the whole process until fib is programmed. This is a 50ish$ fix to a stealership fix. The pin search is under adaptations+rf hub. The key fob program is under 1 of 2. The first is fob+key the 2nd is the type with key inside of fob..the key from factory fob inserts perfect into this fob. All the buttons work as they should. This is a perfect replacement for a dealership key. The only difference is that it doesnt say the brand on the back too which nicely put i could careless about

I lost my good fob and waited months hoping to find it. I searched the house one last time and nothing. My 2nd fob was failing and I often had to start my truck but touching the fob to the ignition button. I used AlfaOBD to link the fob as I own the $50 app to diagnose other truck issues. Halfway thru the programming I accidentally canceled it. Tried again and it failed. However, I tried the fobik2 ans voila! It had made it! Good as new!I think I may need to drill a hole in the key though as it is difficult to remove. Must be a patent thing. Small price to pay. I'm sure the Stealership would have been well into the hundreds for a replacement.

I have bought 2 of these to replace the single fob I had that was malfunctioning. First, you must know what frequency (RFID) your truck uses. It matters, because this fob is for Generation 4 Rams ONLY. You must also know your trucks 4 digit pin to get past the ECM's security system. Any reputable locksmith can program the fob(s) with no trouble. You do not have to have the emergency key cut first. (highly recommended after though) If you have it cut before programming, and for some reason the fob is defective, you won't be able to return it. However, these fobs are tested before being released for sale. It cost me the price of the fobs and $40 per fob to have them programmed, and an additional $1.50 to cut the emergency key. So, about $150ish for 2 fobs. The dealer wanted well over $200 for a single fob. That did not include programming. The only thing you really need from the dealer is the truck's security pin. Then, take it to a locksmith, you'll save a good chunk of money not going thru the dealership.
