I have bought several other retractable key rings over the years and they always break (I'm looking at you, $6-$10 cheapie key rings). THESE keyrings do not break! I am a school network manager and use my keys about 50 times a day to get in and out of rooms all over school and the cable or the retractor has not broken in more than 3 years of use. If you pull out various keys a lot, this thing is excellent!

I use this as a tool to keep my shower curtain from blowing in while showering. On the inside side of the shower curtain, I use Command Hooks stuck to each side of the shower wall where the curtain meets. I attach the Key-Bak to one side with a pull-chain and pull the Key-Bak to the other side, while holding the shower curtain back/away, and hook the loop to the other Command Hook. Works like a charm!! I'm purchasing another one simply because if you don't hold it well while pulling it across it will snap out of your hand. We had guest who didn't realize how strong the Key-Bak was and it snapped back causing it to bust the plastic. It still works, but I'm going to replace it. Been using it this way now for 3 years.

This thing is indestructible. I’ve used it for quite some time; dropped it, smashed it against the wall, gotten it wet, etc. and it still functions perfectly and looks great. It’s very light, the clip is extremely stable and holds it exactly where you put it, and the cable retracts perfectly every time without getting caught up on itself or stuck (unlike what I had before this one). It is a bit big, especially the key ring, but that does give you much more flexibility in being able to put tons and tons of stuff on it. When you do load it up with tons of stuff, being able to easily lock it in its retracted position is great for making sure it doesn’t start drooping down from the weight. Overall, this is great value for money, I doubt it will ever fail you

Had no idea what this was. Turns out this locks your clip in place. My hubby was delighted with his. This little gadget is very well made. Hubby loves how it locks all his keys in place. I was looking for this product because hubby loses his keys everywhere and even left his keys in our front door all night, we live in a building in NYC. Well that was no good! I got him this so the keys are always attached to his body. That was the best outcome for both of us. It really gave us peace of mind. The last thing we wanted was for someone to use our own keys to enter our apartment. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for convenience, peace of mind and a well made product. The price is good for such a great gadget. Thank you Key-Bak.

I have had several Co-Workers ask where I got it. Their comments are generally along the lines of "that sure isn't one of those cheap gas stations ones!". Of course they see me using it to hammer nails into wood. Or to hammer a kip handle loose. Or to break something I don't just want to hit with my hands. They also it carrying several keys and a small flashlight(http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006VPPERC/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and even my Locks for LOTO on occasion.(though both locks plus everything else is a bit much for it to hold locked in place. A good swing will send my cord down).It has even shredded my woven belt. It is all frayed from having this thing put on and pulled off it. Rather than being upset, this pleases me. It tells me that the Key-Bak has a good solid grip and makes me confident it won't come off by accident.The only con I can come up with is that the latching is weakening. I noticed that some time ago. It is to the point that even my keys plus flashlight can cause it to unlock from time to time(though keys only still stay in place). A sturdier locking mechanism would be awesome but this one does the job. 10 bucks for something like this that lasts a year with my rough use really is nothing to sneeze at. Plus for Lock-out Tag-out I am unlatching and re-latching at 10 or more times a day in some cases for the locks alone. Add in using my flashlight to inspect parts and it probably gets latched and unlatched over 20 times a day on average, if not more.I lied. There is one other con. The way it latches means that it doesn't work well left handed. I tried switching it to my left hand side and found it much more cumbersome to use than on the right. I am right handed though so it doesn't really affect me much, I just wanted to spread the wear on my belt a bit. So to look at my last con - this item would be beyond perfect if it had a stronger latch that doesn't wear out in over a year that was equally easy to use right and left handed.UPDATE 9/26/2014- Well as of this week it finally bit the dust. That is still over two years of heavy use. And the I could tie the cord around the key ring and continue using it as is. However, the cord finally tore right around the point where it connects to the ring. But I am very hard on it(in fact the general comment from friends and coworkers is amazement in that it took me more than two WHOLE years to break it). All in all I have been very satisfied and ordered a new one. Very good value for your dollar.
