Our existing keys were falling apart with the key part breaking out of the housing, so ... after having both new keys cut for $20 at a hardware store, it took just about 2 minutes to program the keys and fobs (you'll find instructions on YouTube. *** Note: this only works, if you still have 2 functioning "old" keys ***). The cost associated with other 3rd parties or the dealer would have been anywhere between $200.00 - $600.00

These keys came as a pair, which was a pleasant surprise for the money. I have a 2008 Ford Taurus. They arrived overnight. We took it to a locksmith and got them both cut. There was a card enclosed in package that listed websites you could go to for assist with programming. By following the instructions on one of the websites, we were able to program the fob remote to lock/unlock doors and then to also program the key to start vehicle. It was definitely a very economical way to get new keys for car. Happy with purchase.

Work great but the YouTube video is a big help to simplify programming as didn’t realize key & fob require separate programming-figure saved $300 as dealer charging $80+tax for programming alone!Great value!

I bought a chip key at a costco for my 2010 ford fusion because my old key malfunctioned. It cost $89. No fob, just the key. For the fob key like this it was over $225. These two fob keys were less than $50. If you have two working keys you can program your own chip keys. Just follow the instructions in the manual. The only difficulty I had was getting the actual key cut. Home depot cut the key for me for a few dollars. It only took ten minutes to program the key and the fob. Saving me hundreds of dollars.

I was able to cut and program these keys to work with my 2008 Ford Taurus X for starting and running the car. However, I couldn't get the remote to work on these keys, in spite of following the instructions on various web sites. These keys are for backup, and my Taurus has a remote keypad that works well anyway, so I didn't peruse a solution any further.
