If you can't find the old Radio Shack solder you loved as a kid, then this is your solder. Easy to melt, flows well and doesn't crack. A bit more money that cheap solder, but worth it in the long run. I buy the thicker solder since I mainly solder larger wires and don't do a lot of board level work

I have used Kester solder since the 1970s and it has always been excellent to work with. Highly recommended.

Kesters has been around for over a hundred years and this is why, very high quality products. Yes there are cheaper brands out there but Kesters gives consistent quality spool after spool after spool.

This solder is the go-to item for small parts. Works fine though I am always surprised how expensive it is.

Price is a little high but quality makes up the difference. Makes my work look better than a cheap solder and makes it a better experience on welds that help my chicken poop looking solder job shiny and nice and smooth.

A familiar brand name and works as expected. Expensive.

I was recently running out of the 60/40 solder I had bought a few years ago for my guitar projects. I happened upon an old package of Kester leaded solder that my dad used many years ago for his occasional soldering projects. It flowed very well, solidified reliably, and the solder joints were consistently good. I eventually ran through my dad's Kester solder and had to shop for another solder. I was surprised to find this Kester solder, and I ordered it right away.Note that I prefer this 0.05" diameter, as it's the same gauge as my father's old solder, and it's the standard size I'm used to. It's helps me to flow more solder when I need it.This Kester solder flows just like the older solder, heating up very quickly and consistently. The difference I notice is that the solder takes a moment longer to solidify. I need to wait a little longer before making sure the joint is firming up. Not a criticism, just an observation.I expect to be using Kester solder for many years to come.
