About this item

  • Cobalt steel tools are similar to high-speed steel, but with more cobalt for improved performance when cutting harder metals such as stainless steel or nickel alloys
  • Uncoated tools feature just the base substrate without any additional treatment or coatings and are suitable for a wide range of applications
  • Round shanks allow use with a wide variety of toolholding systems
  • When run in a counterclockwise direction (right-hand cut) spiral fluted tools evacuate chips up and out of the cut to reduce clogging
  • 90 degree angle

KEO ZErO flute countersink and deburring tools are simple, all-purpose tools made of Cobalt that provide flawless countersinking and deburring. The chatter-free cutting action requires minimal power. The microsmooth CNC precision ground construction produces clean, smooth cutting without smearing on a variety of materials. The tool especially excels in countersinking or deburring holes in aluminum, plastics and other nonmetallics. So these are definitely better than a regular countersink and are very high quality. BUT they do not cut well!! Ridiculous how a cobalt steel bit can't barely get through some plain mild steel. I even bought a diamond sharpener to touch it up and that helped a bit to where the next hold was better. But seriously they got the shape wrong it seems, not enough bite it's sharp and just spins barely taking off metal. In the end If you have one or two holes to do, it'll work. It'll work great in wood. But these are supposed to be able to handle steel with ease. Its cobalt for crying out loud. Regular hss drill bits have no problem with mild steel.

Cuts like a warm knife through butter on aluminum plate. Did c.sinks for 3/8" fh bolts which are about 3/4" head diameter. Beautiful chatter free countersinks with a hi tourque mini mill.

This bit did not chatter like my normal bits. Of course I had the 1/2" hole drilled before I started with the chamfer. I'm new to these chamfers and did get the job done. Bit kept dulling out on me. I had to sharpen it a number of times. Just chamfering into mild steel. I used cutting oil and was really careful that I didn't get the bit hot. Worked good considering. It would be interesting to know how quality a bit these are. Oh well, I'm happy. It would be good if they gave instructions on sharpening the bit.

Somewhat disappointed. This bit makes very smooth countersinks, but didn't last long at all. I use a cheaper bit to make the basic countersink and then would use this bit to give me the final smooth shape, in order to minimize wear on this bit. I would also use large amounts of cutting oil and very slow drill speeds, again to make this bit last. It lasted through 8 holes in mild steel, again only used to clean up the hole already sunk by the cheap bit, and it is dead now and needs to be sharpened. Ironically, the cheap bit still cuts great.

Bit was expensive but necessary for my project. Resulting countersinks in aluminum looked great.

I bought this zero flute cutter to improve the quality of my countersinks and make the process more efficient. It's been used sparingly over the course of roughly a year.I have used this cutter in mild steel and 6061 aluminum only and always with cutting fluid. I've attached two photos, a top down showing the burned out cutting edge, and a side shot showing the gouges in the outer cone. Those are from a 6061 aluminum curl that got trapped in between the countersink and the bit. I still can't believe the damage aluminum caused to this bit.I was expecting much better performance for a $40 bit. I treated this thing so carefully thinking I had made an investment, only to end up with a bit that is completely useless to me. I can't even fix it. Will look to another company in the future. I cannot recommend this tool.
