This is a great little vacuum. It’s small but still quite powerful. We use it on both our carpet and hard surface and it works flawlessly. Feels well made and it’s designed very well too. It breaks down perfectly for doing stairs or other odd spaces.

I have never been more pleased by a vaccuum cleaner than I have been with this one. It gets the deeply embedded dirt. I vacuumed my entryway which is about 12 feet long by 3 1/2 feet wide. It is a wooden floor, it filled the tank half way. Dirt that wasn't visible to my eyes and that was clearly unreachable by broom was sucked into this vacuum cleaners tank and filled it halfway. I for the first time since living in this house (4 years now) I finally feel like I am able to get the floors clean. The air quality has improved. I vacuumed an area rug 12 x 8 and it completely filled the tank up. Every room in my house filled the tank up at least one time. It blew me away how much was just out of reach of my home depot brand shop vac and the horrible vacuum cleaner we had here. I FEEL LIKE I ROBBED THE BANK! I feel like I should have paid a lot more. The vacuum suction is so powerful that it pulls the vacuum forward. I grew up with hoover vacuums the ones the door to door people use to sell. Those are some pretty solid vacuums. I also have had orecks which are great vacuums too but the hunt for bags just became annoying. I have used dysons and all the dirt devils and sharks etc. Etc. I will say this vacuum is comparable to the quality of a Dyson. I beat the hell out of my vacuums. I have had the vacuum since the beginning of the year and use it around 2 to 3 times a week. I have a 3 year old who loves to tear stuff up and leave crumbs, paper, stickers and toddler goo balls all over. It gets all of it up. I also have two cats one who thinks he needs to catapult the cat litter all over the place. The vacuum sucks it all up with ease. Maybe even a little too good because I have had to dislodge clogs from being absent minded and sucking up a bottle cap, baggie, wrapper- something that typically clogs. It is easy to do. I will say that since I have long hair and my head hair does shed more than others that the one thing I had to do was cut the hair out of the brush- but so many years with a garbage vacuum cleaner, this vacuum was picking up years worth of deep dirt and hair. Another problem I had was when I used the wand which easily detaches from the base, the base tips over and becomes a really annoying nuisance and the reach is pretty pathetic. But i did notice that when it detaches the brush prop of the main vacuum stops, you have no idea how many vacuum companies overlook this. This vacuum is amazing. It isnt very wide and it can get in the tight and narrow spots. It is attractive. It is by far worth double what i paid for it. I will say there isnt a shadow of a doubt that it is on the same level as one of those dysons or the high end 290 dollar sharks. There is a total of one thing I didn't like and it is trivial.If you are looking for someone to help you decide between this one or some other brand go with this one. You will be happy. Its got high end premium functionality with a shoestring budget price. You will have some seriously clean carpets and flooring. Pick this one..

This is the greatest vacuum I have ever bought. It's lightweight. You can detached the hose from the body to give you a longer reach. The canister detached easily with a push of a button to empty and you can open the top and bottom of canister to empty. The whole vacuum swivels making it easy to go around furniture. It has a light on the front. You can detach the canister and hose from the body and carry it around for easier cleaning. It has several filter that are easy to take out and clean. I am so happy I bought this vacuum. Worth every penny!

There is a lot to like about this vacuum. It does a great job of cleaning on both area rugs and bare floors. All can look clean when beginning vacuuming, but this little baby picks up seen and unseen debris with a surprising amount of dirt in the cup when finished. I really appreciate the "headlights" which help you see what you are doing and where you might have missed. This feature is rare in lower cost vacuums. This vacuum's small size allows it to get into spots that most vacuums can't, plus its light weight permits easy maneuvering. The vacuum also offers a feature that I have never had, but definitely like, is the ability to easily reduce suction. And I like the vacuum's color! The only complaint that I have to date is the cord's location and length. I wish the cord was a little longer, and its location on the right side of the vacuum is a bit awkward. However, I am getting used to those little issues, and appreciate this vacuum for all that it offers, and for a relatively small price. My hope is that it lasts a long, long time!

This initial review is after a single use of this new vacuum. Since the negative reviews all seem to indicate problems in the long run, I will update the review in 6 months to a year, and if all remains the same, will add a star.My situation: I finally reached the point where, after replacing the internal and external hose, the power switch, and the power head on my Dyson Ball Animal 2, the power head stopped working and I was unable to determine the cause after extensive troubleshooting. As such, I decided to look for a replacement.I live in a 1900 square foot home with bare floors and area rugs on the 1st floor, and wall to wall carpeting on the stairs and 2nd floor. I have one short hair dog, but the last of my long haired dogs recently passed so it was a good test for the Kenmore DU 4080.Unpacking and assembly.I love how this vacuum was packaged. The container was only 2 feet tall by 1 foot wide. There was no unnecessary packing or excess plastic bags wrapped with miles of packing tape. Unpacking and assembly took less than 10 minutes. The unit comes with a laminated quick start guide that has large font print, as well as a detailed owner's manual, also with clear instructions and large print, great for us old folks who can't seem to read the micro font in most manuals even with our glass on!. Assembly is completed in 4 easy steps, simply inserting components together until you hear a click.Initial use.I was surprised by several things upon initial use. First, the motor has great suction with a variable suction switch for decreasing it for things like vacuuming drapes, and in fact, when using it on the low-pile area rugs it actually pulls itself forward quite strongly (I used it on max suction setting). It works very well on bare floors, picking up kitchen debris and dog kibble without launching it all over the place. The power switch allows you to choose between the roller off or roller on positions.I then decided to test the upright removable cannister and onboard tools. The cannister removes easily from the base simply by stepping on the lever and lifting straight up. I attached the (non-powered) stair tool and set to work. Suction remained quite strong, and it made a noticeable difference on the stair carpeting.Minor quibble no. 1: The debris cannister is relatively small compared to the Dyson. I had to empty it after completing each floor, whereas the Dyson could run and not fill the cannister until the whole house was vacuumed.Re-attaching the cannister was quite easy; just line it up and push until you hear the click, and that's it. It was lighter than the Dyson and hence easier to carry up the stairs. It continued to perform well, and even sucked up a noticeable amount of dog hair from the longer haired dog who had passed 2 weeks earlier, so that tells me the beater brush and the suction are quite powerful. Emptying the container is a breeze; just hold it over your garbage can, push the button on the bottom and the door opens to release the debris into the can. Snap it back together, place it on the base, and push until you hear the click to return. I did not notice any excess debris stuck in the cannister, although I make a point of shaking and banging lightly on the side when emptying it to remove anything that gravity could not pull out.Minor quibble no. 2: The cord is way shorter than the Dyson, so I had to unplug and find new outlets to complete each floor, whereas the Dyson cord was long enough to only have to change outlets once upstairs, and not at all downstairs. I can live with this. :)Overall, the unit is light but sturdy, does not seem cheaply made, and did a great job on its initial use. I do have a minor concern where the hose goes into the upper handle, as even with the strain relief, the bend is rather sharp, and may wear out in the long term.I will update this review as required later on, but for now it seems the 150 bucks I paid was a good investment.

This vacuum is light, portable and easy to use. I’ve always had heavy canister vacuums because I thought they worked best. This has great suction and is very lightweight. It’s handy to do a quick clean by the door but also works well for deeper cleaning. I use it on rugs, flooring and upholstery. I highly recommend.
