I finally wore out my podiatrist-purchased boot and needed a replacement. The one of the (plastic) strap loops broke off. The loops for the straps on this one have a metal base instead of plastic. Much sturdier.I couldn't figure out how the adjustment wheel worked, but I didn't need to change anything so that was ok.Overall, I am very pleased with this item.

I don’t normally like to write reviews so quickly after receiving a product but this boot is like a cloud surrounding my foot and ankle, also keeping it well immobilized after ankle surgery I had 5 weeks ago. I’ve been through a few boots now and the “most advanced” one, also pretty expensive, gave me a pressure sore on top of my foot from the plastic that helps to immobilize your foot. The one my surgeon gave me was heavy and hurt my fresh incision, whether I pumped it with air or not. So I wasn’t sure how this one would work out after all the bad luck I have had so far with boots. I can’t say anything about how well it works for walking because I am still non weight bearing after having a tendon and a ligament repaired (tendons and ligaments take forever and a day to heal). But when I pump it with air, I get the feeling that the cloud feeling I have will be useful for when I start bearing weight. Even if I don’t pump air into it, it still feels very supportive and comfortable. Comfortable is the key word after all the boots that have been like torture devices.

I can't get rid of my plantar fasciitis because all those other half boots or boots just don't work for me. All the others are a half boot with straps on the top or the bottom. Maybe I'm a freak, but after an hour some part of my foot falls asleep in contact with the straps and it ends up hurting so bad I take it off in the night. I had one foot bad for a year and a half due to squats and the weight sleds and I finally decided to get a cast. Because this is very high (goes 3" short of my knee, I'm 6'2", and has multiple velcro straps, it stays in place and distributes the pressure across my leg and foot. Your foot wants to unflex during the night, so the heel tries to raise when its in a fixed position. By strapping and the inflatable sections, it makes enough surface contact so that the foot stays in the right position and the heel on the ground. The Velcro is ridiculously strong, which is a plus. But if you don't want to wake your wife, go two blocks down the street before you try to take them off! My wife nearly jumped out of bed on the first strap. Four more had to follow.Unlike a plain cast, the adjustability of this was perfect. I rotated it to the 15 degree angle (past 90) but this morning reduced it to around 7 degrees (your foot is a 97 degrees to your leg) since the heel just tried to come up and I got a "hot spot" on the bottom of my foot. Very, very sturdy. The pins and adjustability are a great idea, but they don't give you any really useful instructions. And its clear someone used Google Translate as the phrases don't always make sense.Last night I went all the way through the night with it, and for the first time in a year and a half my foot didn't give that sharp pain on the first step (re-tearing the healed tendon)!Improvements needed - instructions. They are useless.Suggestions - when you move the pins, you need to rotate the plastic dial to where the "pie" is open. Then you need to rotate it 180 degrees and remove the other pin. Then do the same thing on the other side of the ankle. Then hold the boot top and the toe and move it to the angle you want. Then reinsert all 4 pins. You will probably have to wiggle the top and the toe to get it to seat. This was really frustrating and I'm an electrical engineer with a few advanced degrees! One pin, on one side is to keep the toe from moving one direction (up), the other pin on the SAME side, 180 degrees away is to keep it from moving down. That keeps it fixed. If you put them in different holes, you can make the boot "walk" where it will have motion in a limited range. I wanted it fixed for my plantar's.Tip - the best way to see where the proper hole is, so you get both left and right side of the ankle, it to look straight on at the boot where you can see both ankle rotating cams. You can see the silver part on the outside and the lobe of a black cam on the inside. The pin goes right on the top of the black cam, and you can see the pin as it goes through the outside hole and stops on top of the black cam. Turn it around to look from the back and you can see the other location.HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This is a nice boot the only thing I would add is that the maker or manufacturer should lubricate the wheels on the sides of the boot or at least provide a small tube of oil and instructions on the need to oil the wheels down once I put the boot on and left the house this thing was streaking so loud I was very embarrassed to say the least so i recommend this boot but DO NOT wear it until you oil the wheels down on the sides

I am wearing it as I write this review. Delivery was quick...even to Hawaii. The walker is well padded & constructed. I average about 2 to 3 adjustments of the 5 Velcro straps you use to secure the boot. This adjustment is necessary because the boot has to remain tight fitting. I normally wear it for about 8-10 hours daily. If sitting for long periods, like going to the movies, I recommend loosening straps or even pulling foot out of boot. You will be more comfortable watching your movie. I have short legs and the support metal braces along each side of the boot come right up to right below my knee. But... the supports are really well padded and includes additional padding you can use for a customized fit. The supports are robust... they need to be adjusted with an Allen wrench-like tool and added stainless steel pins. I keep it at straight up and down so can't comment on how easy it is to adjust angles, but doesn't look too difficult according to included written directions. I don't know if it's my malfunctioning leg or the walker boot but sometimes I...squeak when I take a step. All in all, very strongly built walker boot. My condition is chronic and I love the pneumatic cushion the boot also has. I will buy it again in a second!
