Appearantly when 240 Volts AC at 30 Amps will go through the 30 amps rated one, the breaker will trip before the wire melts, and I am questioning that theory.

I use them for finding troubleshooting shorts that are hard to locate. Fuses may be more reliable but for locating shorts that are hard to locate they are great for my purpose.
