Took my kayak out for 2 outings and it went through the keel guard. I do not drag my kayak at all it it just from the loading the kayak into the truck and it's pivoting on the dirt. It also started to fall off after the first outing. I cleaned the hull and used the supplied wipes. It sat for 2 days before taking the kayak out. It was fine as it was sitting but after water got to it it started to peel off. Would not buy again.

NOT very abrasion resistant. Keel guard started peeling before taking the kayak out. Adhesive is stuck to the kayak but the keel guard separated from the adhesive. Went to the lake 3 times may have hit sand or rocks twice each time and the guard has been ripped, and/or torn.

Initially bought some for my ascend 12t. I liked it so I bought another roll for my old town sportsman 120. If done correctly, it creates a good barrier and helps stop the hull of the kayak from getting destroyed. I would recommend to a friend. Slightly expensive, but I would rather pay this for a guard than for hull repair.

Easy to apply and does a good job protecting the keel.

They work but they get scratches and worn out also. Kind of expensive to have to replace once in awhile.

I installed Pereguard 4” kayak guard on one of my kayaks, and love it, so I ordered an 18’ roll for my hobie PA 14. The PA 14 is heavy and gets keel rash from beaching. I cleaned the area with alcohol and a rag then went over it with the supplied alcohol wipe one last time. I cut my two strips and cut the backing paper of each right in the middle. That’s a tip - for long sections, work from the middle. I heated the strips a little with a hair dryer to make them more flexible, then taped one half in place. The other half, I worked from the middle, slowly, about 3 inches at a time. Pressing and smoothing as I went, and slowly pulling back a few more inches of backing paper. The install came out as clean as glass. This stuff is more durable than the plastic of the kayak, and is a sacrificial layer when you need it.Great product; highly recommend!

this product does not bend to curves very well / to thick .....so wrapping the bow keel line is a major challenge ( the 1 area U need it most when beaching the boat).....but it sticks really good once on ......also, putting it on with the help of a heat gun proved advantageous. Apply slowly.. if u get a air bubble in it ...hard to get it out since it adheres so well and pulling it back off is difficult
