This egg cooker has such a charming presence on my countertop, but it feels cheaply put together. It has a simple on/off function, so in that regard it's very easy to use, but it can be difficult to calibrate it to the level of egg done-ness you want. Super easy to assemble.

I love that this egg cooker is adjustable and uses very little water! You can use just one level and cook 1-6 eggs or use both levels and cook up to a dozen eggs. You can also cook things like corn, dumplings, etc. I read the instructions looking for times to cook eggs to varying degrees and there is nothing like that. The machine just has a power button that turns it on or off. I really wish there was more helpful information - for instance, how long to cook a soft boiled egg. I’m giving it less stars because the instructions are not very helpful and there is no built in timer - you have to time the device with your own timer. Also, it doesn’t provide a guide for cooking eggs to varying degrees. The button feels cheap too - it depresses kind of unevenly which makes me wonder how well assembled the electronics are… The cooker is adorable though - I will give it that much! I believe I could eventually figure out how long to cook things to the right degree but how many eggs will I over or under cook trying to figure that out? Eggs are not cheap!

I make breakfast pretty often, so I was looking for something small and easy to use—bonus points if I could take it with us in the RV. The double-layer setup is great when you’re making food for more than one person. I like that it’s not just a one-trick appliance—it actually comes in handy for more than just eggs. It’s super lightweight and compact, so I could definitely see it being perfect for hotels or RV trips when you just want to make something quick without a full kitchen. It’s nothing fancy, but it gets the job done and is great for saving space and time.

This really works well and is very simple to use. There is no timer, but instead the cooking time depends on how much water is added. When the water runs dry, it stops steaming and the light goes out (see note below). For hard-boiled eggs, add about 70ml water, and for softer eggs just reduce down to about 60ml. After a few runs you'll get the best amount for your tastes. I love the fact that it takes very little effort, so I'm more likely to do it any time I want eggs. The hard boiled eggs came out perfectly on the first attempt and didn't crack while cooking (not so far at least). Both the whites and yolk are cooked perfectly and not overcooked around the outside. I'm not compromising good results for convenience, so I'm really pleased with the results. One important thing to note is how the power switch and light work. With the switch on, and with water in the base, the light on the switch illuminates indicating that it is steaming. When the water runs dry, the light goes out but it's not "off". If water is added at this point, the light comes back on without pressing the switch. For consistent results, I recommend that after the light initially goes out, to tap down the condensation to drain back into the base. The light will come back on and you'll get about another minute of steaming. When you're done, even though the light is out, you must turn off the switch to actually turn it off.
