I always use a lip grip to avoid accidents, especially with treble hooks. This one is high quality, probably the best I've bought so far. The construction and materials feel solid. It's easy to use, feels good in the hand, and the polymer handle ensures a good grip. The integrated scale is accurate enough to be actually usable (tested it with weights up to 12 lbs). Very happy with the purchase.

If you want a good gripper that will last, this is it. It is solid. The mechanism for working the gripper is absolutely perfect. Works every time and the triggers are in the right place to be able to handle and operate with ease. The material used on the handle to make it non slip is excellent as well. This would certainly hold up some monster fish as I fully intend to do with it…as long as I can catch them first!😂

The Pistol Grip came very well packaged.The non-slip handle fits well on either hand. The “trigger” can be easily operated using either one or two fingers. Once engaged, the grip holds firmly and there is no chance of any fish slipping off. The opening at the base of the handle allows for attaching the grip to a scale.I recommend this pistol grip to any angler who wants to ensure the catch is safely and securely landed. I gladly give this product a 5-star rating.

The Paradox 9” lip grip is solidly made and works well for my application of kayak fishing. When landing a lot of bass one’s thumb can get torn up, and when catching toothier or slimy fishes a gripper is nearly a necessity.Comparing this to my incumbent plastic pliers design lip gripper:Pro: The ergonomics of this gripper allow me to grab fish easier at different angles when they’re turning on the line. The trigger is easy to pull back with your fingers and you simply release it to grab. And looking at similar grippers this one's trigger looks easier to grab. They sit well in one of the holder slots on my yak gunnel. The handle strap allows you to tie off to let the fish soak while getting your camera, scale or measuring board.Con: Weight. I would probably carry my plastic gripper on my backpack if wading and ounces count. It will not float like my plastic gripper, so I will likely lanyard it to my yak or rig a float.I can’t speak to longevity as I’ve not had it long enough. But build seems good and with an occasional rinse, air dry and drop of oil I should get many years’ service from it. Again, I really like the functionality and would buy again if something happens to this piece.

The mechanics of the jaws seem well-built and work smoothly. However, the cord that you wrap around your wrist is too short and the plastic connector is weak and useless. I’ve had 2 of them pull out… and one of them pulled out as I was landing a good-sized pike. Fortunately, I was able to catch him in the net before he swam away with the grippers in his jaw. Good product, just change out the cord.

This lip gripper is a very nice upgrade compared to the cheesy, mostly plastic one I’ve been using. Its stainless steel construction is great, it’s very ergonomic, and it seems like a very heavy duty lip gripper that will last for years. Certainly the nicest one I’ve ever had, and it’s hard to imagine that you’d find a nicer one for the price. I’ve yet to catch a pike or walleye large enough to use this, but my fingers are crossed. It will remain on my boat, close at hand, for the “big one.”
