This unit appears to be similar in design to the existing walk in cooler emergency release push knob. It however is better from a quality point of view being all metal construction versus the existing one which utilized a plastic rod to connect the outside handle to the inside push knob. As the instructions indicated, we cut the purchased handle rod with a grinder to match the length of the one we were replacing. Once cut to length, we rounded off the end of the rod (again with a grinder) before inserting it through the door and into the back of the outside handle. We attached the rod plate with sheet metal screws (not provided) to the backside of the walk in cooler door. Works as expected.

Used in 80+% of walk-in coolers and freezers. They prevent entrapment. Some will need to be trimmed a bit. A simple hacksaw (or power tool) is all you'll need to length- adjust. A dab of lithium grease goes a long way to keep them nice and free.REMEMBER: IF YOU ARE EVER TRAPPED IN A WALK-IN, SHUT OFF THE FANS!!! (USUALLY A SWITCH RIGHT NEXT TO THE UNIT) THEN,LISTEN FOR PEOPLE OUTSIDE TO HELP YOU AND BANG ON THE DOOR AS LOUD AS YOU CAN. IF NO RESPONSE KICK THE DOOR CLOSE TO THE HANDLE, STARTING WITH THE RELEASE.

Pros-installs easy, but I did have to cut shorter, using a hacksaw, was easy to cut.-Very fast delivery.ConsNo instalation screws included.Would I Buy again.-Yes, and I recommend this.
