It works so well for anything needed to be weeded, seeded or tilled in my garden bed. Cuts through clay pretty easily and I use it for mixing together potting soil in my wheel barrow too.

This tool is a wonder for making flower beds in areas with a lot of tree roots and deep weeds. It is marvelous! It is sharp and easy to handle. Makes short work of difficult tasks. The ground under the windows was awful. But look at the resultsBe careful. It is very sharp.

I was skeptical of how well this would work based on the weight alone, but was surprised at how well it works, especially if you do a bit of work to keep it sharp. I use this mostly for cutting out crab grass and other grassy weeds from my garden, and it works very well for cutting under larger sections of plants with smaller roots. I have found that holding it with the blade parallel to the ground and then digging in with the heel of the blade is the most effective way for me to use it. I did end up wire brushing the entire blade and then painted it with a heavy outdoor tool paint as I was having issues with rust, but that was very simple and I haven't had issues since.

This works well as long as the ground is really wet. Best after a long heavy rain.
