The Kalimba, is a simple structure instrument nicknamed the “finger piano”. It is also known as a Mbira which was originally a traditional musical instrument of the Shona people of Zimbabwe, Africa. They used a coconut shell or a wooden box with a piece of iron to vibrate and create sound.
The Kalimba is one of the easiest instruments to learn to play. Unlike the regular piano, you don’t have dozens of keys, and complex chords and scales to learn. The appearance may look simple, but the sound is fascinating and easy to create.
Portable and palm sized, it’s convenient to carry around. You can make wonderful music anywhere, suitable for travel, religious ceremonies, relaxation, weddings and other social gatherings. How to Tune your Kalimba
1. Tuner:
You can use a real tuner or download an App.
Android: gStrings, IOS: insTuner.
2. Tune with hammer:
Making tines longer (from the point where they are held down on the bridge) will lower their pitch, and making them shorter will make their pitch higher.

I collect Kalimbas from costly to not so costly. I like trying them all. I cannot find Kimi Kalimba and did not even see this at first. I saw it says Kimi. I bought it just to see how it is not knowing it is rel or not. This is actually a real Kimi Kalimba. $14.00 is juicy! I bought 6 after I played the first one. Lol. I like the acrylic stand too. I use the stand for my phone and jbl clip speaker too! Thank you seller!

I’m completely in love with this kalimba 💜 The sound is so light and pretty and no dead tines! I love that it came with little rubber bumpers for the back so the acrylic doesn’t get scratches when set down.

After reviewing other wood products, I tried to cancel the order. I was glad that I wasn’t able to cancel it. I like how cute and pretty this looks. No dead tines and it sounds very pretty and soothing. It opened up the whole different world for me. It is still light and small enough to take it with me wherever I go.

ooooh, I LOVE this kalimba, and I have several many! The first thing that drew me to her was her magical rainbows... it was just too happy, delightful and fun to pass that up. I had watched an amazing youtube review online that solidified my decision to make this purchase, and that one addressed the sound she makes. It's rich, full of resonance, clear and bell-like despite this not being an open/wooden kalimba box. Her sound is far better than many of my more pricey kalimbas. Even her highest tines are pretty darn clear. I'm personally not a fan of the animal shapes which are cutesy and not my thing, but those rainbows!!! I couldn't resist; She's clearly a beauty. Weight is solid, but not excessive for me. She holds well, too, with my small hands. I LOVE this kalimba and highly recommend it. In a rainbow magical heartbeat!

I’ve been playing this and learning songs since I got it today. I’m so in love that I haven’t been able to put it down for more than 2-3 minutes before picking it up to play again.It isn’t heavy at all, which is a great thing. I researched Kimi kalimbas before buying and I found that the previous build was kinda of heavy and would tire out your wrists after a while of holding it, but the newer one is lighter and wouldn’t really tire your wrists. This kalimba definitely matches the part about not tiring out your wrists. I’ve been holding it (off and on) for about 4 hours and I feel like I could hold it for 7 more lol. It was already in tune when I unboxed it. The sound is so nice and dreamlike (almost like a twinkle). It was pretty easy to learn and memorize what most of the keys/tines were (by reading/watching tabs and learning to play certain songs) without the stickers, but I finally put the stickers on after about 3 and a half hours of practice so I could learn the rest. And it’s just so cute! It looks so much prettier in person, I can’t get over it. With this being my first kalimba, it really exceeded my expectations. 15/10.

I personally own a Kimi rainbow acrylic that I bought from a kalimba website a month back. I loved it so much I wanted to gift this for my niece for Christmas this year. However because of shipping taking much longer - and being much pricier! - from the other website, I checked on Amazon to see if they had it on here instead. Suuuuper happy to have found it! Anyway, it finally arrived and it’s definitely the AUTHENTIC Kimi rainbow acrylic I was hoping for!It's a VERY beautiful kalimba. The rainbow affect is always exciting to look at, the tines sound very delicate and soft (quieter than hollows and solid boards) yet absolutely ENCHANTING!!! Not to mention the craftsmanship is amazing! This kalimba is moderately heavy but not heavy enough to bother the hands. Tines are not engraved but they come with nice key stickers that are easy to see. I bought adorable epoxy (resin) stickers in addition to this purchase so my niece can decorate her kalimba however she likes! I own 6 kalimbas total and the Kimi has become my favorite to play!My mom owns a kalimba herself (a wood, hollow type) and she loves it but when I showed her my Kimi, she could not stop playing on mine!! So guess what? I'm surprising her with one of these as well. It will be my second purchase from this seller… I'm still waiting for that package to arrive in the mail soon ;)I thoroughly regret not taking pictures of the initial one I bought on here but since I have another one coming, I will make sure to take a photo of it before wrapping it up. As a matter of fact, I will post a photo of MY Kimi kalimba (that was bought from the other website) and the one purchased from here laying side by side so you can see that it's the real deal.
