la finition intérieure laisse à désirer pour un Kala. En plus ce n'est pas de l'acajou massif comme la description le laisse penser, c'est du laminé mais joli son et en plus je l'ai eu pour un prix très interessant.

I compared this with 3 other Ukulele's that I got from Amazon and chose this one. If I didn't get a deal on an unboxed one I may have bought a Cordoba instead. I am a guitarist so I wanted a Ukulele that I could play occasionally that was not too expensive. This was the nicest sounding instrument out of the four I tried and if you don't get a deal like I did, it would be the most expensive of the four. You can watch my comparison review on YouTube if you are interested. Just do a search for "Ibanez UEWT5 vs Cordoba 15TM vs Kala KA-15T vs Kala KA-TEM Ukulele Review - Which is Best for $100?" Just one tip, no matter which you buy: Check that you can play notes on all frets. If you don't know how to, ask someone who knows. The one I got needed some fixing, but I took care of that. You may not want to do that. Good luck!

Ignore anyone anyone who expects a brand new stringed instrument to stay in tune straight out of the box, strings need to be stretched when new to help them bed in and retain their tuning, something they won't do in the factory... so be patient... stretch and tune a few times until they settle down.Anyway, onto this Uke, I've got a few now an this has good action and is very playable, good smooth sound, not too dark but a change of strings can help you achieve the sound (at least part of the way) you want if you know what type to buy. Overall I'm very pleased with it and great value for money.

Good sound. Needs the strings tuned far too often though, but good uke.EditAfter playing for so long I've decided to upgrade my rating. I have a much more expensive solid wood ukulele and this sounds better. This in the hands of a more experienced person is magical. It's still magical in the hands of a beginner.

I wanted to try these Kala KA-Tenor ukes for some time, so I ordered this one, the Kala KA-T (Exotic Mahogany) as well as and the KA-TG (Gloss). Both arrived promptly and are beautiful. They are laminates but still sound lovely and are much cheaper than a solid wood ukulele. They both seemed to be set up fine right out of the box. Very comfortable to play. You just have to do the usual tuning until the nylon strings set in.To me, the Satin finish of the KA-TEM allows for a bigger sound than the Gloss finish of the KA-TG. I have noticed this before with glossy coated ukes of other brands. The glossy finish is eye popping gorgeous, but, after playing both, I prefer this KA-TEM with the Satin finish as I def think it has a little better resonance than the gloss. This KA-TEM it is still quite pretty and unique looking.

I would give it 6 stars except I am concerned about the quality of the E string. No matter how hard I try, it sounds dead. It registers on the Korg chromatic tuner just fine but it still has an odd sound. I just received the Uke today, tuned it and played with it for several hours, and really like it otherwise. I have a Kala soprano and do like it but wanted this larger Instrument. I want to keep it but wonder if it will settle down after a week or so of use. I guess that the alternative is to replace the string( s). Never did that but will need to learn eventually. Any suggestions?

I'm very pleased with this ukulele. The sound is really rich and I'm happy I've bought it. The only downside is that I have to tune it every time I want to play.

I thought the price seemed fair....but when I got it, it just wasn't what I expected. It didn't have the tone I thought it would and the finish on it wasn't done well...made in China...quality poor. Best to shop those kind of things I guess in a local shop.

Musically, I had no problem with this tenor ukelele. I has good tone and volume, and the frets seem accurately placed. And it comes with Aquila nylagut strings, the best available. I returned the instrument, however, because I did not like the slightly rough texture of the wood surface, although the color was nice and the grain good looking. I gave it four stars because I found it good as a musical instrument.

I found this uke to be very well-made, quite playable and easy to tune and handle. Good tone, good frets and action. It can and should to tuned to soprano pitch. It is also a very attractive instrument as well. I recommend it!
