I had a Floyd Rose Special and the really bad soft metal they use for saddles was terrible. Not only did it sound bad but the strings being locked in would get pressed into the soft metal and cause string to pop out.I got these stainless saddles and they fixed everything. Not only are they much stronger but the sound really improved.Only reason I didnt give them 5 stars are the saddle edges are a bit too crisp. They arent sharp but you can feel them. A little 320 grit sandpaper on the edges solved that, maybe 10 mins works. These are also Made In Japan I assume since the bottom of the saddle is stamped Japan. Cheaper than Original Floyd Rose saddle and at least as good if not better.

I can’t say anything was wrong with the product. The parts are manufactured in Japan and the stainless steel looks and feels amazing compared to the OEM saddles. They sound a lot better too…more clarity and better tone. However, I was unable to use the stainless steel screws that hold the pinch block in place as the diameter of the screw would not allow it to pass through the slot in the whale tail. So I reused the OEM screws. I also did not use the fine tuner screws, perhaps I will later. It’s a solid product at a great price point.

I installed this saddle set on a Jackson SLX4 with a Floyd Rose Special bridge along with a brass original Floyd Rose 32mm sustain block and wow what a huge improvement! Tuning stability is now rock solid and there is a noticeable increase in sustain. I was about to just toss the FR Special for a totally new trem, but thought I'd take a chance with this setup and it was a good call. I'm very happy with what was previously a real turd of tremolo (constantly breaking my high E & B strings at the bridge, wouldn't hold tune, thin sounding, etc.) Material quality is very good and the machining quality is excellent. One minor issue is that the fit for the string block pieces is really tight tolerance, so you do have to help them draw up smoothly and not bind on the sides of the saddle opening. I only had this issue on the thinner gauge string positions. The saddles do have a slightly taller profile, which raises the action. So you do need to drop the post height to compensate. This could be an issue if your Floyd isn't recess routed (full-floating) to allow for that. I was concerned that since these saddles were staggered for what another reviewer indicated to be a 10" fretboard radius that I might have to shim these to work with the Jackson 12" to 16" compound radius fretboard profile, but that wasn't the case. I was able to get my action really low without any real issues anywhere on the fretboard. Overall, I think it's a great upgrade especially at this price point.

These saddles are made well and the stainless steel material is a huge upgrade for those using Floyd Rose Specials. I have one caveat: as shown in the photo, the machining leaves a sharp edge right between where the strings lock and move over the top of the top of the saddle. I broke two 0.009 strings before noticing what was causing the problem. I was able to quickly remedy this by using a round needle or jeweler's file to smooth out this sharp edge. I am ordering another set of these and fully expect I will have to do this again, so while it is a minor inconvenience, they are still worth buying. I have been playing on Floyd Rose bridges since 1986 and have been doing luthiery work since 2010, so I am very comfortable working on these types of issues. Those who may not want to try this might consider ordering upgrade saddles from Floyd Rose. I am hoping the manufacturer will read this and make some changes to their machining process.

I was able to get this half off as a return from someone who just have not known how to put a Floyd rose together, or was turned off at the mistakes in metal work I found. Either way, I don't think the one mistake I found will hinder performance. Great value to add to a cheaper FR deck (if you find one with good blades as I did) that comes with cheaply pressed zinc alloy. This should add greater performance and tone as well as stability and better fit.

Very nice quality. You might find that the included screws don't fit well (or at all) into a FR Special base plate. I don't think this Kaish kit is to blame for that. I had to rethread all relevant holes in the base plate. They are M3x0.5 and M5x0.8, for reference. There was a reviewer here that blamed the quality of the included screws, and I think he ran into just this problem.

These stainless steel saddles are a great (probably the best) alternative replacement saddles because their inherent qualities ( hardened and corrosion-resistant steel), give them performance (no string slippage), as well as durability equal to genuine Floyd saddles, at almost half the price. The only thing lacking is that they don’t come in black or gold color, but the stainless steel looks great on a chrome bridge..
