So, the most important thing for me in a quickdraw is, well, not breaking. But that's something I have to trust on, and Kailas hasn't let me down (literally) before. These have held up for a couple of climbs just fine. But in terms of the tangible, weight and operation are top factors. These are definitely lightweight, and while I am not doing such long routes that weight is a huge factor, it still matters. And then clipping, these have been smooth, I like the subtle amount of curve on the gate. And I actually prefer the straight back, it allows me to distinguish postion tactilely more easily. If I have a complaint/suggestion, I wish the fixing sleeve was any color other than clear. I understand the aesthetic choice but it would really help differentiate ends quicker and at a glance. Of course, like most climbers my rack is a mixed bag, and a bit of tape can provide consistency, but it would just be a nice touch.

I gifted this to my husband, who is an avid climber, and he politely declined the gift. He said he doesn’t trust climbing equipment made in China because they don’t have the same safety ratings, tests and guarantees.

In the box you get 5 sets of carabiners ‘dogbones,’ meaning that you get 10 total carabiners and 5 webbings. Each webbing has a rubber straightjacket to keep the carabiner oriented at the specified angle.These are well made carabiners, and they are lightweight. Their ratings are more than ample to be used for climbing. I wish however at this price that they had an auto lock mechanism. Using carabiners without that auto lock increases the risk of the rock face pushing them open during a climb. At this price, I feel that they should have this.I went into this order eyes wide open knowing that they did not have an auto lock. Outside of that, they are very attractive, light, and have good specs. The price per carabiner is not bad when you consider that you are getting 10 well rated ones with the webbing for easy dogbone carrying. As such, I feel this is a 4 star product.
