Nice. Once you get them on the boot and properly adjusted they are great to keep the “pokey” stuff out of your shoes while hiking. I wear a higher top boot and they still fit great.

First pair of gators I bought in a long time… Using them for trail runs particularly in winter… Material seems durable and easy to attach to your shoe. Great gift for anyone who’s into running particularly in the winter or also on sandy trails.

I recently completed a section of the Pacific Crest Trail and can’t recommend the Kahtoola INSTAgaiter Mid Gaiters enough! These gaiters were an awesome part for my hiking experience, providing the perfect balance of protection and comfort over long distances.Durability and Protection: The materials used in these gaiters are incredibly tough, standing up to the rugged terrain of the PCT. They effectively kept out dirt, rocks, and even the occasional splash of water, ensuring my socks and shoes stayed cleaner and drier throughout my journey.Comfortable Fit: The adjustable straps and mid-height design offer a snug fit without feeling restrictive. I appreciated how easy they were to put on and take off, especially during breaks when I wanted to air out my feet. They stayed in place even during steep climbs and descents, which is crucial for maintaining focus on the trail.Breathability: One of my concerns was overheating, but the breathable fabric kept my feet comfortable even during warmer days. I never felt like my feet were suffocating, which is a huge plus when you’re hiking for hours on end.Lightweight Design: Weighing in at just the right amount, these gaiters didn’t add unnecessary bulk to my pack. They are lightweight yet sturdy, making them an ideal companion for long-distance hikes.Overall, the Kahtoola INSTAgaiter Mid Gaiters are an essential piece of gear for anyone into hiking, trail running, etc. They provide excellent protection, comfort, and durability, allowing you to focus on the beauty of the trail without worrying about debris or moisture. I can’t imagine hiking without them now!

Bought these to keep grit and duff out of my mid boots. The L/XL size rise 2-3 inches above boot collar. Light breathable stretchy nylon for hot weather when winter gaiters are not required.Fits ok trail shoe type mids and UK size 11 leather walking boots. Quick and easy to fit.

I've had many different designs and brands of trail-running gaiters, and these are the best by far. I was skeptical that the insole strap would be durable, but the plastic strap in these has proven to be very much so. I've probably run nearly 1000 miles in these, and the insole strap shows no sign of wear. They are easily replaceable if they ever DO wear out. The zipper arrangement is really nice because, unlike other designs, you can remove them without taking off your shoes. They fit very snugly around the shoe, and so do a good (but not perfect) job of keeping out the dirt. The material is very durable - I haven't worn any holes in them yet, unlike some other designs made of thin stretchy material.Well worth the money!

I've been wearing gaiters while hiking for four decades and these are the best I've ever used. Ready on/off. Lightweight. Highly breathable. Durable. Effective. I purchased a second pair (tall) for those times that I'm wearing boots rather than trail shoes.

I am a building inspector, this item will not hold up very long under my work conditions, I require something much strudier.

Adjustable and snug fitting. Strap is rugged. Only put about 100 miles on them hiking on the AT and in the Smokey Mountains National Park. They were durable and kept out debris. No ride up on the heel. Easier to install by zipping the zipper first then hooking the shoestring hook.

I gave it only 4 stars because there isn't an option for 4.5. The half point off is for the TPU straps on the sole of your boot. They are stiff enough that they came to a point under the sole of my boot. I could see them getting caught on a rock or root. Before I ever took the gaiters for a run I cobbed the straps a little by softening with them with a blowdryer and then lashing them to a chunk of 2 x4 for a few days. That reshaped them enough to where they now lay flat up against the sole of the boot under my foot. I've done 5 or 6 runs with them and the gaiters are great. I run on hiking trails that go through northeast woods with rocks and roots. Easy enough to put on and tighten at the top. They're thin material though it seems tough enough and has repelled mud and water ok. These are definitely not like your OR Crocodile winter gaiters. They're lite weight. These replaced a ten year old pair of Schoeller fabric Eastern Mountain Sports velcro-closed running gaiters. So far I'm a fan. I'll bring these along on a trip to Nepal next spring where I'll encounter a lot of loose scree along with some lite snow on the trekking trails. I won't do a lot of running above 14k feet but these should work nicely for a Khumbu trek.
