Very thin can fit in tight places for your pet in a tank! It's very easy to clean! An works well to heat! But won't burn!

Up until now I've only ordered the normal heat pads that cannot be adjusted. The ability to adjust the temperature with a heat level button is perfect! I have some animals that need more heat in the summer, but in the winter, they DO need a little heat, but nowhere near the level they get in the summer. This nifty device eliminates that problem. There are multiple options with this heat mat. You get 7 levels of heat output. And you get a timer as well if you want it on a timer. The timer can be set for 2,4, or 8 hours. I don't use the timer, but I can see how some people might. This heat mat is just as durable as any of the name brand ones that I've purchased of this type of design, and I might be wrong, but it felt like it heated up faster than my other ones. Either way, I plugged it in and turned it on and it warmed right up! Absolutely a great product! The price is great too!

Not at all like heat mats that I am accustomed to. This is simply a thin sheet of semi-rigid plastic (barely thicker than a heavy card stock) with heating sensors (?) Infused inbthe plastic.More concerning is that the heat produced by the mat is uneven (only heats on the first 2/3 of the sheet) and also not easily or safely controlled. Though the product claims heat that you can set within a certain range, the controls are only numbers on a dial.I cannot recommend this product.

This is a rather rigid heating mat. I got it for seed germination and mushroom mycelium colonization. The winter months can make things difficult for trying to grow things, but with a little help, you can raise the temperature of a local area by 10-20 degrees Fahrenheit. The mat has only strength settings and a timer, so you’re going to need to experiment with settings. The controls are pretty simple and straightforward. I can tell you that the mat tends to be warmer near the corded end, but after 15 minutes it tends to even out. If you’re looking to use this for precision I would recommend a thermostat controller, but if precision is not a factor, then this mat is pretty decent.Edit: This unit cannot be used with a thermostat controller as it resets to off when power is restored. You might be able to to a thermostat as a safety limiter to shut the unit off in case it’s temperature exceeded a certain level.

First, let me explain that this comes with ABSOLUTELY NO INSTRUCTIONS in the package. I'm using this for a Ball Python. The listing claims you can "Control the temperature between 0 and 35°C (32°F and 95°F). Can be used with a thermometer". Neither of these statements are true. There is nothing that tells you what temperature level each number represents, so you have to guess or use a thermometer/thermostat. Well, if the range is 32F to 95F, I felt safe selecting level 6 out of 7 for the snake, so this should easily be below 95F, right? Wrong! It kicked up to over 107 degrees!!Even though the listing also says "Can be used with a thermometer", that doesn't work right either. Because it was so difficult to maintain the proper temperature, I bought a Heat Mat Thermostat. It allows me to plug the heat mat into it and select a specific temperature so it will turn it off once reached. The problem with this is that when the temp drops and the thermostat kicks back on, the heat mat DOESN'T kick back on. You have to manually turn it back on again, so the temperature sensor idea is useless.This item is unreliable and therefore dangerous for any pet!

The heat pad is very thin and I think it's better to handle it gently. Also, it surprisingly very hot and I would avoid directly contact with my reptiles or lower it to level 4 or less. I was using it to warm up my flake soil for the fermentation and it heated up quick and average but it also heat the surrounding tiles. To save my energy usage, I move it from the bottom of the box to the middle of the boxed so it works for 2 boxes warming. The size is perfect for the ikea SMALA box which is what I am using and so far it works just like I expected and I am satisfy with it. Th only thing I wish it can be improved is the package, now it's just a simple pack with no protection and can be damaged with just some harsh impact.
