I feel obligated to warn other consumers about my experience with TWO Jura machines. Both failed after 5-6 months of basic home use (5-6 cups daily). My husband, an engineer and rocket scientist, analyzed these machines and discovered concerning issues that every buyer should know:HIDDEN COSTS AND DESIGN ISSUES:✘ Machines are DESIGNED to require professional maintenance every 6 months✘ Jura's cleaning products DON'T prevent the need for this maintenance✘ You MUST ship your machine to a service center twice a year✘ Each service visit costs hundreds of dollars + shipping✘ No coffee maker for weeks while it's being servicedTHE MATH:Purchase price: $$$$Professional service: $$$ (×2 per year)Shipping costs: $$ (×2 per year)Annual maintenance cost: Over $1,000What Jura doesn't tell you upfront:Their home cleaning products are insufficient for long-term maintenanceThe machine is designed to require professional servicingYou'll be without a coffee maker for weeks during servicingThe total cost of ownership is MUCH higher than advertisedDon't be fooled by the sleek design and initial coffee quality. The long-term ownership costs and hassle make this a poor investment. If you make 5-6 cups daily (normal for most households), expect problems within 6 months. For this price point, consumers deserve:True transparency about maintenance requirementsBetter reliabilityHonest disclosure about total cost of ownershipMachines that actually lastI've documented all issues and have engineering analysis to back these claims. Save yourself the frustration and money - look elsewhere for your coffee needs.BOTTOM LINE: The actual cost isn't the machine - it's the mandatory maintenance and early failure you're not told about until it's too late.Update: After posting this review, I discovered many others with similar experiences. This is a systematic issue, and there are not a few defective units.

We have been using a Jura coffee maker since 2007. Our Jura Impressa lasted until about a week ago. Best coffee ever. We finally had to say goodbye to our beloved Impressa and ordered a new Jura eva8 in Metropolitan black. When it arrived today I was so excited to not only use it but dig into all the new technology Jura has improved upon. When I removed it from the Amazon box I noticed a huge dent crush in the actual Jura box. Opened it up and everything appeared to be fine until I filled the water tank and noticed water all over my counter top. First I thought I hadn't installed it properly so I removed it and it felt like it was cracked, sure enough a crack from top to bottom. This water tank although nice looking is very cheaply made and very thin plastic. We contacted Amazon immediately and they wanted us to return the entire machine. Now we have to contact Jura but today is Labor day and no answer. We'll no coffee for me. For a $1,500 dollar machine you would think that as well as it was built that they wouldn't have gone cheap on something like the water tank that is used almost daily.

Very easy to use. It makes great coffee. Within 5 minutes in the morning I’m having my cup of Java. Super easy to clean.

I loved the machine until it started making a loud banging noise 9 months after purchase. Jura says I'm not covered by warranty, as the machine was sold (new) by an Amazon reseller that is not an official Jura authorized dealer. Said I should have called them to verify warranty coverage before purchasing. Much as I like the unit, I will not buy another one because of their poor customer service. So I'm paying for shipping and repair, not cheap. Caveat Emptor.

Can’t go wrong with this machine. Gorgeous and works well. Tad expensive purchasing cleaning tablets and filters though.

Water pump was not working properly. I immediately called Jura and they were able to send a replacement which worked properly. I’m really getting annoyed at the worse and worse quality control coming through Amazon. Makes me wonder if I got a returned machine.
