Sousaphone Valve Big Tuba Made Of Full Brass With Bag Brass Finish Tubas

The sousaphone is a type of tuba, Designed so that it fits around the body of the tubist and is supported by the left shoulder, the sousaphone may be readily played while being carried. The sousaphone is a valved brass instrument with the same tube length and musical range as other tubas. Its shape is such that the bell is above the tubist's head and projecting forward. The valves are situated directly in front of the musician slightly above the waist. The bell is normally detachable from the instrument body to facilitate transportation and storage. It is manufactured from sheet brass, usually yellow or silver, with silver, lacquer, and gold plating options, much like many brass instruments. It is in the key of Bb, and the instrument's part is usually read in concert pitch.

Tubas are brass instruments with the lowest tonal range, but they have slight variations. In addition to different possible structures, the four main pitches are F, Eb, C, and Bb. The baritone, euphonium, and sousaphone are also companions of the tuba.

The sousaphone was created by redesigning the tuba to a larger size.

John Philip Sousa, the famous American conductor, and composer of many marching tunes came up with the idea for the sousaphone. An instrument manufacturer completed it as a special.

The sousaphone looks truly heavy. When constructed out of brass, it can weigh about 12.5 kilograms. ABS resin material brings the weight down to 3 kilograms.

The sousaphone's prominent feature is the large bell that sits over the player's right shoulder and faces forward, which allows the instrument to project its sound toward the front. The large, round bell is often a symbolic feature of marching bands and other troupes that line up and play information.

Unlaquered brass is very high maintenance...but solid brass tone justifies the care..my neighbors love the sound!
